What is CampsiteChatter.com?

CampsiteChatter is your free directory for Campsites, touring grounds and holiday parks in the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. Read on to find out about the other exciting ways you can use the website, unique to Campsite Chatter. As the trend towards “Stay-cation” in the U.K has become more popular over recent years we felt that the campers needed a fresh and different way of finding the best places to visit.

Search By Venue

We have made it very simple to find your ideal campsite with our step-by-step guide. We also offer our unique “Search by Venue” option which will show you all the campsites within a distance of a theme park or other attraction that you are visiting. Simply hover over 'Find a Campsite' in the top menu and then click 'Find a camping site by Venue or Attraction'. Start typing the name of the venue into the field and then select the venue you want to go to. Select your pitch type, the distance from the venue you're happy with and click on the site features that are important to you. Finally click 'search for campsites' - easy! With the postcodes of over 400,000 UK venues and attractions in our database, you'll easily be able to find campsites near the place you're itching to visit.

Pinboards

Becoming a member of Campsite Chatter is free and easy - it will take you, quite literally, seconds. Once registered as a member of Campsite Chatter you can create pinboards of your favourite camping trips or places you want to visit. For example, a camper intending to visit Woolacombe may create a pinboard called “Places to visit around Woolacombe”. They can view other Woolacombe associated pinboards that people have created and repin photos from their pinboard’s onto your own. In this way they will soon have a good collection of photos - their own personal online scrap book! You can also contribute to community pinboards such as “Great Walks in the South West”. Here you will be able to share your photos and experiences to help other campers with similar interests. One final unique ability is for you to easily edit photos that you have uploaded. You can brighten the photo or remove red eye, add a frame or even add some text to your image. Why not try it - it's lots of fun and it’s all free!

Explore Locally

You will also notice that each campsite has an "Things to Do" tab on their listing. Here there will be over 1000 local points of interest, shops, cinemas, theme parks and much more listed with images, reviews and even directions on how to reach this place from that particular campsite. This will prove invaluable if you are planning a trip or whilst you are on your camping or caravanning holiday to find out where you should visit next. And, if you should have an emergency whilst away - a doctor, a chemist, a launderette? - this tool will help you to solve the problem.

Chatter Forum - Q & A

Join our community and you can ask questions related to camping/caravanning or motorhome trips. Campsite Chatter's forum is slightly different to a conventional forum. When you have asked the question you will then “own” that question. You will have the ability to read the answers and choose (accept) the best answer to your question. When another camper has the same question they can quickly see a great answer to their question without trailing through pages of posts. Points mean prizes and as people vote on your questions/answers you will start gaining reputation and then badges within the chatter area.

Camping and Caravanning Specialisms

On Campsite Chatter, we recognise that many campers and tourers want to go away in order to enjoy the activities and interests that make them feel fulfilled and happy. So, we have created a different way of searching for a campsite - through our camping and caravanning specialisms. Visit our specialisms pages (accessible from the top menu) to see if your own interests are reflected there. Find campsites near horse riding, near dog friendly beaches, near golf or with coarse fishing on site. And, if you can't see your own personal interest reflected in our specialisms, contact us and we'll try to cater for your needs too!

Badges

When you become part of our community you can aim to collect badges based on carrying out certain tasks. This is a great form of reputation as other users can quickly see how highly the community considers you in certain disciplines. You can view all the badges here, and we are adding new badges all the time.
