Welcome to Clydach Gorge Caravan Park

The Park is situated just off the A465 Heads of the Valleys road at the foot of the Clydach Gorge.It is accessed off Station Road which leads to the local village of Clydach. The site is very conveniently situated but does suffer some road noise.
It is located one mile from the village of Gilwern and four miles from the market town of Abergavenny and is within the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The site is a small 20 caravan pitch touring park all with electric hook-ups (16amp). Some tenting is also available.
There are 5 gravel hard standings and 5 reinforced grass hardstandings. The amenities block contains 2 family shower rooms along with additional showers and toilets. Dishwashing facilities are also available.
In 2011 a fence was constructed to help reduce road noise and improves privacy for visitors.
Tiling of the shower room floors and the entrance porch was completed and additional outside lighting was installed.

Motorists driving along the the busy A465 'Heads of the Valley' Road through the Clydach Gorge are mostly unaware of the beauty just a short distance along Station Road where the caravan park is located.The photographs below,show what they have been missing, just a short walk from the park.

BRECON - 18.0 miles.
The town of Brecon nestles in the shadow of the majestic Brecon Beacons and has stunning and beautiful scenery. It is rich in history and there is something of interest for everyone.

BRECON BEACONS NATIONAL PARK MOUNTAIN CENTRE - 24.5 miles.
The "Mountain Centre" is located 5 miles south west of Brecon and some 15 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil. The Mountain Centre, which is how everyone refers to it in South Wales, is run by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. It is consistently the most popular visitor attraction in the National Park.

LLANGORSE LAKE - 14 MILES
Llangorse Lake is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains. Surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons. Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales and is renowned for its Pike Fishing. Canoes, sailing dinghies, rowing boats and pedaloes can all be hired from Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park, water- skiing is also permitted on the lake.

BRECON MOUNTAIN RAILWAY - 17 MILES ( VIA A465 HEADS OF THE VALLEY ROAD)
The Brecon Mountain Railway is a narrow gauge preserved railway that runs through the Brecon Beacons along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir. It is located three miles north of Merthyr Tydfil.

GARWNANT VISITORS CENTRE - 19 Miles via A465 Heads of the Valleys Road
Garwnant is the Southern gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Forestry Commision have completely transformed Garwnant to include a new restaurant, education/conference facilities, information centre and toilets. Try the forest walks, children’s play area, mini-MTB mountain bike trails, range of exciting events and much, much more.

DAN YR OGOF CAVES - 36 MILES
In the heart of the Brecon Beacons, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (voted Britain's Finest Natural Wonder 2005) is one of the country's top visitor attractions and is the most spectacular showcaves complex in Northern Europe.

MONMOUTH - 19.5 Miles
Monmouth is a Welsh border market town situated at the confluence of the Rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy. With its bustling main street it makes a great destination for a holiday or a day out!
Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth boasts a whole host of historical sites, people and buildings from the Nelson Garden to The Town Hall. It has a medieval 13th-century bridge over the river Monnow, unique in Britain as it is the only preserved bridge of its design remaining.

HAY-ON-WYE - 24 Miles
Hay On Wye is a little market town on the River Wye, in Brecknockshire, Wales, and very close to the border with England, it is within the Brecon Beacons National Park and surrounded by spectacular countryside. Reputed to be the jewel in the crown of Wales and known as the Town of Books.Every year, around 80,000 visitors flock to Hay-on-Wye for the town's annual literary festival.

THE WYE VALLEY - (Monmouth 19.5 Miles)
Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1971, the beauty of the area has been attracting visitors for centuries.

SYMONDS YAT - 25.5 Miles
Symonds Yat is a village in the Forest of Dean and a popular tourist destination, straddling the River Wye and the borders of the English counties of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, it is within a few miles of the Welsh border.
