Welcome to Common Leys Farm

Our 500 year old, Grade II listed Tudor Farmhouse is set amid 38 acres of breathtaking Oxfordshire countryside with views over the Bernwood Forest. It sits with a selection of cottages and stabling around the large central courtyard.
The farmhouse has five large B&B bedrooms and three large reception rooms, two of which have log-burners. Beams and welcoming fireplaces give an abundance of character, with the kitchen being the former dairy of this historic working farm.
Whatever your need - B & B, Self Catering, Camping, a Fantastic Location for your Wedding or Event, or the Freshest Home Grown and Home Cooked Food - then Common Leys Farm could be just what you’re looking for.
If you want a base to tour the sights of Oxfordshire or Buckinghamshire, then Common Leys Farm is ideally located - just 9 miles from the centre of Oxford and only a quarter of a mile from the Buckinghamshire border.

Common Leys Farm is run by Allie and Doug Cherry who have been working hard to create a very unique guest house, restaurant and self sufficient farm:
"When we arrived at Common Leys Farm, the house hadn't really been lived in for some time and the barns were being used as stables.
After a lot of redecorating and tidying, we initially started a bed and breakfast business in the farm house with just two rooms and then added two self-catering lodges which were created within the stable buildings.
Due to demand, we quickly increased the self-catering accommodation by another two lodges and started doing cream teas / sandwiches and light bites in the afternoon. Before we knew it we found that we were also running a restaurant, and catering for 150+ weddings using a marquee in the grounds....

Camping and Caravanning

Our campsite is a great choice for those who prefer a caravan or sleeping under canvas. It is located in a peaceful spot at the back of the farm and has access to drinking water, pot washing and shower facilities, electric & waste disposal facilities, as well as a washing machine & tumble dryer.
Our farm shop has all the essentials needed, but of course you always have the option of joining us for some top notch British food in our restaurant - breakfast, lunch or evening.
Last minute deals, special offers or multiple night discounts are sometimes available so please call us for details.
And no.... it's not normal for the alpacas to escape into the campsite

Self-Catering Accommodation

We have a range of holiday accommodation including four self-catering lodges, each of which accommodate 2 people, and our holiday cottage which accommodates up to 4 people.
Our lodges have been beautifully converted from our farm outbuildings – so not only do they have plenty of character but also offer comfortable and flexible accommodation from sole occupancy to large groups. Please just call us to discuss your requirements.
All lodges have TV with freeview, free Wi-Fi, fridge and cooking facilities, and towels and bed linen are provided.
You can be as self-sufficient as you like, but you are more than welcome at any time to let us do the cooking (and washing up!) for you. Come and join us in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner – or just to relax in our cosy lounge whilst enjoying an afternoon cream tea or cup of freshly ground coffee, or even a pint of local ale!

Farm Shop

We are currently expanding our farm shop and sell a wide range of home produced meat, eggs, pies, cakes and preserves as well as some fantastic deli items.

Local Goods
We're always looking for some exciting and interesting locally produced items to complement our own range. If you would like a great outlet for your produce or goods (for example, if you produce vegetables, honey, ice-cream, candles, knitwear etc) then please get in touch!

Campers
We also stock a small range of household products (e.g. washing liquid, shampoo, barbecues, butane, games, etc) to support our caravanners and campers.

Directions

Satellite Navigation Warning

If you use satellite navigation then make sure you use the postcode "HP18 9UP" which will bring you to a point on Menmarsh Road, 100 yds west of Smith's Lane, which leads to the farm.

If you use our actual Oxfordshire postcode you may be directed to a location which is a mile away as the crow flies but just under 5 miles away by road. Depending on your sat nav you may also be directed up narrow lanes only suitable for farm vehicles.

Driving Directions from the South East (London)

Take M40 from London.
Leave at Exit 7 A329 (Thame, Stadhampton)
Turn right and follow A329 to Thame.
From the Thame roundabout take the A418 to Oxford, after approx 0.75 mile turn right toward Shabbington, Ickford and Worminghall.
Go through Shabbington, past Ickford and at the Worminghall X roads carry straight on towards Stanton St John. (DO NOT TURN LEFT TOWARDS WATERPERRY).
After approx 1 mile you go over the M40 bridge, then past Thomley Grove Cattery, pass the farm buildings on the left and after approx 100 yards, take the next left (Smith's Lane).
Common Leys Farm can be found at the bottom of the lane on the right. At the green security gate, press the large silver button to call the farm.
Driving Directions from the North West (Birmingham)

Take the M40 South.
Leave the M40 at exit 8A.
At the roundabout take the 2nd Exit "A418, Thame, Aylesbury".
After approx 3.5 miles, take the road to the left signed "Shabbington, Ickford"
Go through Shabbington, past Ickford and at the Worminghall X roads carry straight on towards Stanton St. John. (DO NOT TURN LEFT TOWARDS WATERPERRY).

After approx 0.5 mile turn left into "Stanton St. John" and continue through the village.
After approx 2 miles turn right at a fork signposted "Worminghall, Thame".
After approx 0.75 mile you will pass 3 bungalows on the right hand side. 100 yards after last bungalow turn right into Smith's Lane.
Common Leys Farm can be found at bottom of the lane on the right, at the green security gate press the large silver button to call the farm.
