Welcome to Dolbeare Park

Family owned, our aim is to offer you and your family a relaxing and fun holiday in beautiful peaceful surroundings and offer you ideas in where to explore this beautiful and very scenic area.

Dolbeare Park is located in South East Cornwall, just 5 miles into Cornwall - with beautiful beaches and the stunning coastline of the Rame Peninsula, this little known area is a delight to explore.

If you crave fishing villages, wonderful fresh seafood, Cornish Pasties, sampling delicious food at superb restaurants and Cornish cream teas, why not visit Looe and Polperro, a short distance from the park.

Adrenalin Quarry, which has the longest zip wire in the UK and Go Karting adjacent is a few miles from the park, cycling the newly opened Tamar Valley trails, canoeing the Tamar River, tree surfing for the not so faint hearted in the Tamar Valley, as well as traditional Cornish fun such as surfing, sailing, watersports at Mountbatten and diving.

Younger guests will enjoy the National Marine Aquarium, Jump play centre, Drakes Den and the newly opened Plymouth Life Centre.

Facilities

We are a peaceful and tranquil site in the heart of the Cornish countryside with good access to the A38 which makes Dolbeare Park a fantastic base in which to explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall. The north and south coasts are in easy reach if you fancy a day surfing on the north coast or sailing on the south. There is something for everyone here at Dolbeare Park.

You can be assured of a warm welcome from Reception. We have a small shop that sells essential groceries including:

- Off Licence selling beers, cider and wine
- Takeaway food - fish & chips, delicious pasties and breakfast including fresh bean coffee and tea
- Fresh baked bread including croissants and pastries
- Sweets, chocolate, ice-creams, soft drinks
- Meat for your BBQ from Paul Bray, our local well known butcher - superb burgers, sausages, steaks and spare ribs as well as mince for the holiday chilli!
- Eggs and milk from the local farm and dairy
- Free Trade fresh bean coffee and tea
- A small seating area outside Reception
- Calor Gas and Gaz are available

Our amenity facilities are excellent with free showers, shaver points, hair driers and hand driers, ladies make-up area and electric socket (for straighteners), underfloor heating, no-touch adjustable shower controls and easy clean surfaces and floorings. We have full disabled facilities and family rooms with baby changing.

We were awarded 5 star Loo of the Year Award for 2010.

We have an under cover washing up area which is suitable for wheel chair use. We have hot water available and there is a small compost bin for collecting your veggie peelings.

We have a small launderette that has a commercial washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. A sink is available for handwashing.

We have a 40 metre adventure play area for Children including a baby springer. We have a separate area for ball games. We have a giant chess set and a giant connect 4.

During the summer and peak periods, we organise rounders, cricket, chess tournaments and archery. We are a family park so we actively encourage all family members to join in and have fun with us.

We do not allow any cycling on the site anywhere. All the roads are gravel, and apart from having some nasty injuries falling off - skidding and spraying stones over caravans is unacceptable. There are many cycle paths a short distance away such as the Plym Trail, Camel Trail and up in the Tamar Valley at Gunnislake.

WiFi is available on site. There is also a computer available for a quick check on emails with access to the internet.

During peak periods, we organise BBQ's, competitions, Easter bunny hunt's and encourage anyone who wishes to organise football for all. We are a family park.

Our Information Centre has a variety of ideas of what to do and where to go during your holiday. You can borrow books, magazines and a few board games. We have details of the local bus service, train timetables, where to eat locally and you can borrow walking cards (some via a pub) if you fancy exploring the country lanes around the park. We also have our wildlife nature quiz which around Dolbeare Park. If you need any help or would like ideas, please come and ask.

Free Fridge and Freezer for our campers. This is located in the Paddock. Names and dates on all items. Everything disposed of on Monday's that has no names or is out of date.

Ice for drinks is available from Reception. Please ask for details.

The bus stop is at the end of the road on the A38, it's just under a mile away on a level walk to Saltash (including the station for St Austell and the Eden Project), Plymouth and beyond and to Liskeard (including the station), Looe, Polperro, Trago Mills and Bodmin - you can find bus timetables in the Information Centre.

Touring Caravans

Hardstanding pitches include a caravan (maximum of 28 feet), awning, car and two adults. Absolutely perfect as we are open all year.

We have level hardstanding pitches with 16amp electric hookups for caravans, trailer tents, motorhomes, 5th wheels and RV's.

Our hardstanding pitches are longer and wider than average. We use gravel for improved drainage, awnings and parking.

Our pitches are surrounded by grass, hedges and mature trees

We have a chemical disposal point and Elsan is sold in the shop. Fresh water and fire extinguisher points are in central areas on the park.

If you don't fancy taking your caravan home or would like a central base to explore the 'Best of Both' Devon and Cornwall, why not leave your caravan here?

Motorhomes and RVs

Dolbeare Park has level hardstanding pitches with 16amp electric hookups for motorhomes and RV's up to a maximum of 38 feet. RV's over 28 feet must be booked and allocated pitches in advance.

Hardstanding pitches for Motorhomes, 5th Wheels and RV's include two people, 16A hookup and electricity.

We have a chemical disposal point and a motorhome service point. Elsan is sold in the shop. Fresh water and fire extinguisher points are in central areas on the park.

To encourage local exploration, in addition to our nearby bus routes, there is no extra charge for a car towed on an A-frame or for a motorcycle/scooter trailer that can be parked safely on the pitch.

Camping

All pitches include one tent, one car and two adults. We do not charge extra for hot water, showers, hairdryers, fridge and freezer.

Our tent pitches are all on grass and are very generous in size. You will never feel crowded here. We have standard size electric pitches, standard size non electric pitches and Super Large electric pitches.

The maxiumum tent width on a standard grass pitch is 7.5 metres including the guy ropes. Most pitches can accomodate a tent up to 8 metres deep. Please let us know your tent dimensions when booking.

Super Large 16amp electric grass pitches - This is our first year of creating our new super sized pitches for tents that are larger than the average. Tents can be up to 10m wide including the guy ropes. Please call us if you need any help or guidance.
For tents larger than 10m wide we can combine two adjacent standard pitches.

There is a free fridge and freezer for you to use. We also sell ice in the shop.

Freshly baked bacon baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolate and fresh bean coffee are all sold in the shop if you don't fancy cooking breakfast!

New to camping
Camping is a fun sharing adventure. If you are new to camping and need any help or guidance, we are always pleased to assist you but not quite as far as putting up your new tent! Please ask for help before a minor problem becomes a major one!

BBQ'S
We do allow BBQ's but you must use them in a safe position and away from any tents.

PLEASE PLEASE please please WE KINDLY ASK YOU do not burn the grass!

There is nothing more unsightly than burnt grass, brown ring marks or scorch marks on our beautiful and lush green grass.

We provide bricks for disposable BBQ's and hot pans.

GAZEBO/PUP TENT
A gazebo or pup tent (for maximum of two small children only) are allowed at an additional cost. The gazebo must be at least 1.5 metres from your tent or 3 metres if used for cooking or from a neighbouring tent. Please note that we do make an extra charge for gazebos and pup tents and they must be booked at time of booking.

WIND BREAK
A maximum of 1 windbreak per pitch. Please bear in mind that a windbreak is potentially an extension of your tent and therefore must be at least 3 metres from a neighbouring tent.

Fixed Eurotent

Our Eurotent really does take the hassle out of camping since you don't have to put the tent up as it will be ready and waiting for your arrival. Apart from bedding and your personal clothes, you don't need to pack the car up to the gunnels!

Up to six people (maximum four adults) can be accomodated on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.

Our fixed Eurotents measure approximately 4.5m by 5.5m. They have one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, a living/dining area and a separate kitchen area and an outdoor picnic bench.

They come complete with:

- Double bed with mattress
- 4 single camp beds
- camping hob with twin burners and grill
- toaster
- microwave
- coffee pot
- kettle
- fridge
- crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils
- table and six chairs
- TV with DVD player and Freeview
- outdoor picnic bench

In addition to your personal items, you will need to bring the following:
- bath towels
- tea towels
- pillows and pillowcases
- sleeping bags or duvets and sheets

Directions

Arriving by Public Transport: National Express buses (tel 08705 808080) from London Victoria and Heathrow Airport to Penzance run serveral times a day. The 'Landrake Bypass' stop is one mile from our entrance and the journey time from London is about 6 hours. Western Greyhound (tel 01637 871871) run regular bus services 592 Plymouth-Liskeard and 572 Plymouth-Looe to the same stop.

Please let us know in advance if you need a lift from the bus stop.

Driving From the East: Follow the A38 past Plymouth and over the Tamar Bridge. After a further 4 miles (7km), when you reach Landrake, turn right immediately after the footbridge. Then follow our signs for 3/4 mile (1km) keeping to the left at the fork.
Driving From the West: Follow the A38 towards Plymouth, when you reach Landrake turn left just before the footbridge. Then follow our signs for 3/4 mile (1 km) keeping to the left at the fork.

Driving From the North: Follow the A388 from Callington to the junction of the A38 at Saltash (by Waitrose) and turn right at the roundabout. After 3 miles when you reach Landrake, turn right immediately after the footbridge. Then follow our signs for 3/4 mile (1km) keeping to the left at the fork.

Using SatNav: Please navigate via the A38 at Landrake, especially if arriving from the North or the West. We are less than 1 mile of good access from the A38. SatNavs have directed caravan and motorhome owners along some scenic and interesting but unsuitable routes.

Late arrivals: Arriving between 6pm and 8pm £10.00 late arrival charge. No non-booked late arrivals after 8pm.

Good clean site, very welcoming!

What was great?
Position of site was good, very rural with lots of walking routes available in the information kiosk. Very clean and well kept and owners could not have been more helpful. Would love to go back.

Even better if....
Only 2 showers in female block which I think could become very busy in high season. No fully serviced sites but they hope to put some in this winter which is good news.
