Welcome to Holme pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Water Sports Centre

The National Water Sports Centre is just 10 minutes from the city centre of Nottingham and yet feels a world away.

Despite Nottinghamshire being the most land locked county in England, NWSC boasts some of the best white water and flat water you will find anywhere. If you're looking for fun, challenging and unique experiences and a choice of exciting courses, NWSC is for you. We enjoy the services of sought after professional instructors who combine their experience with excellent customer care. Whether you want to ride the rapids on our 700m purpose built white water course or simply laze away an hour or two boating on our 2km lake, there is an activity to suit you.

NWSC welcomes families, groups, schools, companies and individuals. It is an ideal day out for those who just want to wander our beautiful trails, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of our nature reserve or simply walk the dog.

From corporate events and conferences to a wide spectrum of water sports we can tailor our strengths to suit your needs. British athletes regularly visit as they build up to national and international events. Our experience of training and elite performance combined with world class facilities explain why the centre was included within London 2012's Pre-Games Training Camp Guides.

Stay for a little bit longer and book your place on our fully facilitated campsite or a room at our hotel. It is a great base from which to explore the surrounding area while remaining close to nature. There are shops, museums, galleries and more in the vibrant centre of Nottingham or you can drive through our gorgeous countryside and get to know local towns and villages. The up-market centre of West Bridgford is close by and has plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping for you to enjoy.

Back at NWSC you can use the gym, try your skill on the adventure assault course or enjoy an experience on the water. It is a wonderful venue for families and we guarantee a fun time for all.

Campsite

Our 18 acre campsite welcomes vans, tents and campers; with on-site shower facilities, 136 electrical hook-ups, 40 hard standing pitches and 24-hour warden service. We have a shop on the campsite, where you are able to purchase a cup of tea and camping supplies ranging from gas for your cooker to toys and games and basic food provisions.

Our Campsite is rated as a 2 star facility with Enjoy England and enjoys easy access to the city centre, rail network and East Midlands Airport.

For the kids there is loads to do, with a sandpit, outdoor table tennis, football, netball and volleyball area. There is also a children's play area both on the campsite and in the main country park and within a short walking distance from the campsite you can find a nature trail. All this in addition to the fantastic range of activities available across our 270 acre site.

If your looking to stay for more than a few days (or need fresh kit in the morning) the main centre building has a laundry room complete with drying area, where you can wash your clothes and hang your kit for the following days adventures.

Whatever your group size, or reason for visiting the National Water Sports Centre and Nottinghamshire, the National Water Sports Centre has the facilities to make your stay both memorable and enjoyable. Please note NO stag or hen party bookings will be taken and under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult.

Accomodation

Our exciting new accommodation block is now open, we have a range of single and twin bedrooms all newly refurbished.

Rooms

Venture into the main building, where we have a 69 bed hotel, gymnasium, bar and restaurant.
We have a wide selection of rooms available to suit any groups needs from en-suite singles to 6 bed dorm rooms and a block of rooms with shared bathroom facilities. All rooms can be booked with breakfast or you have the option to go room only.

Once you have arrived and settled into the room, you can head straight to the bar (open from 18:30 daily except Sundays), where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and bar snacks or head into the gym for a work out (please note: there is a small charge to use the gym). All of these facilities are open to visitors and guests.

Whenever staying away from home the question of where to eat is normally a big one. Here at the National Water Sports Centre we have a range of hot and cold food and drink options available to suit any budget or dietary requirement.

Canoeing and Kayaking

At the National Water Sports we realise that sometimes you do not require an instructor at all times to go kayaking, we offer sit-on top kayaks to hire by the hour. This only operates between March to October

Power Boating

The National Water Sports Centre has a range of Internationally recognised RYA courses available on-site.

Using our world famous 2km Regatta Lake and range of powered craft we will teach you everything you need to know to competently drive a boat by yourself.

Powerboats are fast, fun and contrary to popular belief very easy to access. Whether your looking to cover safety at events, go traveling around the coastlines of Britain or just want to get involved in a new and exciting hobby, the National Water Sports Centre has the right course for you.

Rafting

Activities really don't get much wetter than this. Grab the opportunity to go Rafting on the UK's premier white water course.

We have a wide range of progressive white water rafting activities available, so you can tackle the rapids in an exclusively chartered raft as a group of friends (6 - 8 people), or as an individual to be part of an 8 man team. Not only is our White Water Course amazingly fun, it is also environmentally friendly as it is a man made course powered by a natural river.

Once kitted-up in wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet you will receive a full safety briefing, followed by a straight top to bottom run designed to get you used to the way the boat reacts to the water and the crews movement. From there you will progress to surfing the "Muncher", nose dunking the "Looping Pool" and high siding in the "Tardis".

Our adrenaline pumping course is used by the British Slalom, Freestyle Kayak and White Water Rafting Teams for training and competition. Throughout your rafting experience safety is paramount, you will be supervised at all times by one of our highly qualified raft guides who will tailor your session to the crew and ensure that a safe, enjoyable, adrenaline filled activity is had by all.

Wakeboarding

Try the exhilarating challenge of wake and knee boarding on our Ski-Tow cableway.

Our main cable is 568 metres in length and 9.5 metres in height making for a long adrenaline charged ride and providing excellent air space to enhance tricks and stunts.

Our 'Little Bro' straight line cable is perfect for beginners to gain confidence or users to practice moves and stunts. The programmable speeds are flexible allowing the instructor to personalise your session.

Safety is always put first at the centre and our experienced team will be on hand to ensure you have a fun and safe experience. They'll show you how the cableway works, teach you riding techniques and equip you with the safety information you need.

GET FIT FOR LIFES ADVENTURES
The National Water Sports Centre is well known for its exhilarating outdoor activities, but it’s also the perfect location if you fancy a workout indoors, with a well-equipped gym located within the Lake View Main Centre building open daily from 07:00 untill 22:00.

You can now join our NEW Life Fitness 60 station, fully air-conditioned gym with unique lakeside setting and inspiring views whilst you work out. Where else can you do your warm up or cool down running alongside a beautiful 2.5km regatta lake?

All memberships include an initial induction and fitness assessment and regularly reviewed training programmes. Personal training sessions are also available for those wanting a bit more 1-2-1 training.

The New Life Fitness Discovery Range
The latest and greatest gym equipment from Life Fitness, treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes. The old fashioned buttons and flashing lights of the console have been updated with a touchscreen interactive table (your iPad’s sportier cousin) – you can setup personalised workouts, connect to your smartphone’s audio library, watch videos and connect to web services. Octane Lateral Xtrainers
Octane XTrainer Fitness is a fully adjustable lateral elliptical machine, similar to a cross trainer or stepper, but offering multiple planes of motion on one machine. The lowest lateral setting starts in a stepping motion and move all the way out to a skating motion. When at the widest setting users burn 23% more calories and receive 30% greater muscle activation in the hip abduction, hip adduction and knee extension over traditional ellipticals.

Trixter Virtual Training Bikes
The Trixter X-dream is the first indoor fitness product that accurately simulates the experience of riding outdoors. Within seconds you can be accurately measuring your power output, your pedalling technique and heart rate.
The Wattbike features both air and magnetic braking systems to allow you to replicate any desired training session from low intensity recovery riding to maximal intensity sprints. Power Plate
The Power Plate is a platform which may vibrate up and down approximately 1 to 2 millimetres 25 to 50 times per second. Using the Power-Plate for 10 minutes is equivalent to 60 minutes of conventional exercise. In order to develop strength, power, muscle tone, and definition, conventional exercises are conducted putting tension on the muscles while standing on the Power-Plate.

We have sophisticated, harmless infra-red gaming guns, making the battle experience more realistic. They use the latest digital technology that includes a real-time feedback scoring system for that all important post mission analysis.

Are you ready to take on the challenge of setting a new record on our 700m activity course? Speed through the tire run, over the cargo net, across the balance beams, into the underground tunnel and you will be on your way to earning the coveted course record.

Set in the heart of our stunning country park-lands our Activity Course is the ultimate in adrenaline filled adventure. Used by the Armed Forces and members of the British Raft Team for training the course is as close as a civilian can get to experiencing life as one of the the military elite.

Ideal for anyone aged 8 and over, each session is tailored to the group with variable course records and layout based on age and ability.

Perfect for Birthday Parties, Team Building Days, Stag/Hen Do's and just for fun, the activity course is not to be missed.

On arrival one of our highly trained instructors will kit you up in helmets and wetsuits (if required), take you for a quick tour of the course and then set your challenge.

Country Park

Set in 270 acres, The National Water Sports Centre is as well known for its beautiful country park as it is for its amazing activities. With a 2km Regatta Lake at the heart of the park you can go for a wander around the lake, or stray off the beaten track to explore our beautiful lakes, lagoons and nature trails.

The site is teeming with wildlife, boasting numerous plants and animals that have made the centre their home. Our grounds team work hard to ensure the site is stunningly presented and actively encourage the wildlife. Take a stroll around our beautiful country park and enjoy Nottinghamshire the natural way.

Our 18 acre campsite welcomes vans, tents and campers; with on-site shower facilities, 120 electrical hook-ups and 24-hour warden service. We have a shop on the campsite, where you are able to purchase a cup of tea and camping supplies ranging from gas for your cooker to toys, games and basic food provisions.

For those wanting to host an event or rally on the campsite we have a marquee for hire, which can be used as a meeting place, barbeque, head quarters or disco hall.

Our Campsite is rated as a 2 star facility with Enjoy England and enjoys easy access to the city centre, rail network and East Midlands Airport.

For the kids there is loads to do. We have goalposts for 5-a-side football, which are free to use and the childrens play area. All this in addition to the fantastic range of activities available across our 270 acre site.

Restaurant, Bar and Burgers

The National Water Sports Centre boasts a wide range of dining and refreshment options to suit any requirement and budget.

Main Building
In the Main building we have a restaurant open 7 days a week offering almost everything you could need. You can pop in just for a cup of tea or go the whole hog and have a 3 course meal. The restaurant is perfect for when you have just finished your activitiy.

The restaurant is open for cooked breakfast from 07:30 - 09:30, lunch from 12:00 - 14:00 and dinner from 18:00 - 20:00 (dinner by arrangement only). Outside of these times visitors can buy sandwiches, paninis, yoghurts, fruit, crisps, cakes and drinks.

White Water Course
The White Water Course has a burger van open during peak periods (usually Saturdays and Sundays), where you can grab a burger, hot dog and a drink. The burger van is open for the public to enjoy and offers a range of refreshments. On peak summer days there is also an ice cream van to help you stay cool.

All catering facilities are open to the public, so whatever the reason for your visit don't forget to re-fuel at the National Water Sports Centre.

Childrens Play Area
Set inside our beautiful country park is our childrens play area. Perfect for families with young children, the play area is free for members of the public to access and has lots of fun equipment for the kids to enjoy.

With over 7km of paths and trails to explore, there is no better place to blow the cobwebs away on a run, cycle or lakeside walk.

Car Parking
The main car park for walkers, cyclist and runners is the country park car park, follow the signs for the white water rafting.
