Loch Ness Camping

Visitors are drawn to Loch Ness for all manner of reasons; there's no wonder that it is one of the hotpots for camping UK. The traditional pursuits of gawping at the views, visiting the stunning Urquhart Castle perched on the cliffs above the myserious depths of the loch and eerrr monster-spotting as still popular today and these Loch Ness camping options will place you in a great position to make the most of the history and folklore surrounding this king of all lochs. Visitors come to relax and recharge but also to explore this stunning environment and there are any number of ways to do this...

Perhaps you're a cyclist? The Etape Loch Ness cycling sportif begins in 2014 - a great chance to cycle 67 miles competitively around the shores of Loch Ness, finishing in Inverness. Or perhaps you're a walker? The newly launched South Loch Ness Trail stretches for approximately 28 miles between Loch Taff near Fort Augustus to Torbreck on the edge of Inverness and it's not restricted to those on foot: those into cycling or horse-riding can use it too, with unrivalled scenery across the mysteroius waters of Loch Ness to enjoy en route. In fact there are many, many ways to explore the environment of the deepest body of water in Great Britain these days: the great Glen Canoe Trail has just opened as Scotland's first formal canoe trail, 60 miles long through the Highland Great Glen and the entire length of Loch Ness. If there was ever a chance to spot the beast beneath, this would be it.
