Wicken Fen Camping

Wicken Fen Camping is a great option for those who wish to combine camping with star-gazing. Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve is well known by local astronomy groups for its vast, open and dark skies, offering a peaceful haven in which to lie back and watch the stars. You might even find your path lit by a few glow worms during the summer months, stars of a very different nature but fascinating none the less! These Camping Grounds will make an ideal base from which to explore one of Europe's most important wetlands and the abundance of wildlife it supports - more than 8,500 species of plants, birds and dragonflies. Camping Wicken Fen is going to be a wild-life packed experience!

Pack your binoulars, which by day you'll be using to spot bird-life, a flask for the hot chocolate and a warm blanket for the end of your star-watching session and head out towards the Fen after dark - the wildlife here is active at night too and the opportunity to gaze up at the galaxy and beyond is boundless.
