For many campers, finding a campsite with a pool is an essential component in planning that perfect camping holiday. Be that a pool with flummage for the kids (big kids included!) can chuck themselves about and burn off some energy, a pool for the littlies to splash about in, or a pool for adult swimming with space to fit in a decent set of lengths before your camping breakfast or at the end of a day out exploring the local area.

To be sure, if your campsite is slap bang on the beach, you are staying in high summer during a heat wave and your kids are old enough to manage the waves, the likelihood is that you'll spend your days flitting back and forth across the shore between towel and surf quite happily.
There's a lot to be said, though, for a heated swimming pool like the one on site at Andrewshayes Holiday Park
in East Devon. Set in the gently rolling East Devon countryside just outside of the independent market town of Axminster, this campsite boasts a large pool with a retractable roof, enabling the staff to open it from April-October.
The pool area is surrounded by a leafy conservatory with seating, ideal for keeping an eye on younger swimmers whilst relaxing yourself.

Campsites in Cornwall with Swimming Pools
Camping doesn't have to mean 'roughing it' but then, nor does having a pool on site mean that you need to choose a high-octane holiday park with a village of statics on site.

A stay at Tregarton Park near St Austell in Cornwall will place you on a family-run site with excellent facilities, including a large heated outdoor pool. Nonetheless, this is a park which adheres to the camping mantras of peace and tranquility. You'll find no clubhouse here, just large pitches which are afforded privacy by the sympathetically planted hedging and, of course, access to the site's pool and sun terraces...now we're talking!
And, the chances are that if it's a quiet early morning or late afternoon dip you're after, you'll manage to squeeze one in as there are plenty of other on-site activities to soak up campers' energy: an all-weather tennis court, a children's play area and an adventure playground.

So, it's not a matter of everyone on site splashing into the pool at once.
Wilksworth's outdoor pool is heated and includes a junior pool for the littlies to splash about in; campers often comment on the cleanliness of the pool and changing areas: not a comment that it's always possible to extend to campsite swimming pools, sadly, especially during a busy high season.
