Welcome to Acre Hill Certificated Location

The site is a Caravan Club Certificated Location owned by Kath and Nick Rushton.

Whilst we might only be a CL (Certificated Location) Acrehill boasts the sort of facilities that can be expected at a much larger site whilst maintaining the quiet family feel of a CL. All pitches are on hard standing and have Electricity points. These elictricity points are of the latest European standard. In addition all the basic facilities such as a water point, chemical toilet and waste disposal are also provided.

Every effort has been made to make the site as pleasant as possible. We feel that the central area with it's shrubs and seating is ideal for those who want to relax after a hard day out doing nothing. The lawns are an ideal play area for the kids too.

Should you have visitors while you are with us we have a parking area set aside which is also on hard standing.

The Area

Acrehill is set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland. This area of the North West of England is relatively unknown but is non the less an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its rolling fells covered in Bracken and Heather attract a host of wildlife. The Rivers and streams abound with fish and add a wonderful sparkle to the green landscape of the valleys.

The local town is Clitheroe in addition there are many small villages in the area which are only a matter of minutes away by car.

Directions

Begin by getting onto the A59 and head towards Clitheroe.

Depending on the direction you are coming from it could be a left or a right but take the Chatburn exit which is about 1.5 miles East of Clitheroe. This is a tree lined lane which ends at a T in 400 yards.

Turn right and follow the road to Chatburn. Enter Chatburn down Crow Trees Brow and turn left in the centre of the village follow the signs for Grindleton. This road is next to the Post Office.

Follow this road (Ribble Lane) for about a mile passing over the River Ribble. At the next junction bear right and climb a steep hill into Grindleton. As you get to the top of the hill turn left at the Duke of York (signed for Slaidburn) and carry on climbing through the village.

Continue straight ahead onto the road which rises over Grindleton Fell. Magnificent views of the Ribble Valley and Pendle Hill on your right. As you drop down off the Fell you will be able to see us in the valley in front of you.

The whole of the area in front of you is the Forest of Bowland.

So enough of the Cooks Tour. Keep going to the next junction which is know as Lane Ends and take a right.

100 yards on your right is Acrehill Farm. Don't drive into the yard, go past the house and turn right into the main drive over the cattle grid.
