If you like paying more than advertised or told on booking - Enjoy climbing under fencing and over large ditches to press code into intercom to open the gates a serious H&S issue - Sleeping on the hard shoulder of the M4 and shouting to each other when having a conversation - Having the 2 jobs worth`s in the green shed watch and follow you then Good Luck!

What was great?
We use this site as a base for visiting Legoland and have recently returned from our second visit. We find it a very comfortable stay with flat pitches. The grass was recently mowed and the toilet and washing areas spotless. Great to have the use of a fridge and washing machines. The kids liked the play area and had a lot of fun on the campsite. We found that if we left for Legoland at 8.45am we got there in plenty of time to beat the major queues. There is tonnes of other things to do in the area as well. Our kids enjoyed Go Ape and we also spent a more relaxing afternoon cruising on the thames. Nextt time we visit we plan to go into London for a day as its not far away. So I would definitely reccomend a stay on this very freindly site with excellent facilities.

Even better if....
There is nothing to dislike about this site in our opinion. I suppose if you are light sleepers the background noise from the M4 may annoy you. Doesnt affect us at all

What was great?
We wanted to visit Windsor Castle and Legoland and we found this site very convenient and comfortable. We were slighly concerned about the traffic noise from the M4, having read other reviews but we were very pleasntly surprised. You just get used to it after a bit and become completely unaware of it. Perhaps this is because its a constant noise! So don't let the closeness to the M4 put you off. We were in quite a secluded corner nearer the entrance, surrounded by hedgerows and we were very pleasntly surprised by the amount of bird life. The site has security gates at the entrance and the toilet and shower block were spotless. the facilitiles are ace- washing machine, tumble dryer, Although we had no need, we noticed the fridges, freezers and microwaves for the campers. A small vending machine was a nice touch as well.The site is also situated next to a river and lock, which was nice to watch the boats. Kids like the play area as well. We will definitely return again when we want to visit Legoland again as its so much cheaper than staying at the theme park and it doesn't take long at all to get there. Great fun had by all!

What was great?
My partner and I found Amerden caravan and camping site easily as it is well signposted from the main road. We received a lovely warm welcome and found the staff very helpful during our stay. The showers and toliets are well above standard and very clean. The showers were free and there was always lots of hot water. We found the cooking area useful. A great stay overall.

What was great?
We have just got back from a 6 night camping stay at Amerden camping site and it was perfect for us. What a lovely site...........the owners/wardens are very friendly and helpful and they keep the grounds and facilities in very good order. As well as toilets and showers, there are fridges, freezers and microwaves free to use. You can also pay to wash clothes. The childrens play area was a hit with our children and they also liked the vending machine. A shop would be great but there are supermarkets within a short drive so no problems really. We used this as a base to visit to visit Thorpe Park, Chessington and Legoland. It was perfect for this as its very close to the M4. Others have complained about the noise from the road but it didn't bother us all. Aparently Heathrow is also not far away but that didn't bother us either. A very happy stay and we will certainly use again next year as the children loved Legoland best of all and we have promised to return.

What was great?
The constant drone from the motorway didn't bother us too much at all. My partner is a very light sleeper but ear plugs solved that problem at night time. In the day its easy just to blank it out and have a lovely time. We had a pitch close to reception which had loads of room for our large family tent, car, table with chairs. A great spot for as as we could see the childrens play area, so we could relax and have a drink early evening whilst they played under our watchful eye! We also found a bigger play area a shorts walk away. The whole site is beautifully maintained, with fruit trees all over and picnic tables here and there. Even though the site was fully booked it didn't seem over crowded at all. We had to queue a couple of times for showers but then that to be expected in the busy season. Toilets and showers were clean and nice. We liked the fact that the site had secure locked gates at night time and the wardens went above and beyind to make us feel welcome. The freezer and fridges were very useful and enabled us to do good shops at the supermarket. We did quite a few things when we stayed. London paddington was a 45 min train journey and the station is close to the site so we went into the city for the sightseeing. We also visited windsor castle and Chessington world of adventures. We will be returning next season as we have promised the kids a Legoland adventure.

Even better if....
Slightly more expensive then other sites we have stayed on but then again way cheaper then staying in a London Hotel!!!!!

What was great?
This was a really good site for my family. Worked well for my kids who are both under 6. They really liked the small children's play area and they enjoyed sitting watching boats pass on Bray Lock. The showers and toilet block was very clean and it was very well situated for us as there is tonnes to do in the area, being near London and all the nearby attractions. We will definitely use this site again as the staff were very welcoming and helpful and we have promised the boys a few days in Legoland.

Even better if....
It is near the motorway so there is some background noise but it didn't bother us at all really and actually enabled us to have quick access to the motorway to get to places.
