Welcome to Anita’s Touring Caravan Park

Bantams at Oxfordshire Camp SiteAnita’s is a friendly, family run campsite on the outskirts of the charming village of Mollington; nestled on the border of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire and only a stones throw from many local attractions giving you and your family to opportunity to explore your beautiful surroundings.

As well as lovely, well cared for caravan and camping facilities we also have two beautifully converted holiday cottages for those who want the experience of the campsite in the warmth of a beautiful holiday home. If you would like to get a little bit closer to nature without pitching a tent you can also book one of our fantastically fun camping pods which are always a big hit with the kids.

We are situated on a small working farm breeding pedigree Suffolk sheep which we often take to shows all over the country picking up a few prizes on the way. Also around the farm are our pride and joy…the Dargale Welsh Mountain ponies. Every year there are mares with their foals at foot which can be seen frolicking in the evenings…pure joy!

When you take a stroll through our garden which leads to the village you will often see our Pekin bantams scratching amongst the flower beds,..they’re a real favourite with the children.

Camping

Camping in OxfordshireCamping is for the ‘young at heart’ and we can give you a great experience here at Anita’s in Oxfordshire.

Our camping area is beautifully maintained, well mown and safe for children to run around and have great fun.

We have three areas within the campsite that will suit everyones needs. We have a large area with 12 EHU’s for those who need electric which can take mixed groups of trailer tents, caravans and tents. This makes our site ideal for family groups who have a combination of all 3 and want to be together…perfect!!

If you would like to be separate from the caravans there is another area strictly for tents only. At the moment it doesn’t have availability for EHU’s; something for the future. This smaller more intimate camping area backs onto the larger tent area.

Servicing both of these areas is a new toilet pod with washing up facility that is as far from the typical camping facilities. Our toilets and washing facilities are as clean as the bathroom you use at home…super dupa!!

For those who need to be close to the main toilet facility there is a smaller area with 4/6 EHU’s. Just let us know when you make your booking and we will do our best to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

With full use of our lovely facilities camping doesn’t have to be hard work!!

Caravans

Caravan site in OxfordshireAt our Oxfordshire site we have 36 to 40 lovely spacious grass and hardstanding pitches which should fulfil every caravanner’s needs. They all have EHU, 10 to 16amp.

The area has lighting in the evening for your safety and convenience and the site is in the main, level, with only a few pitches slightly sloping.

The site is lovingly maintained by the campsite team with flower filled troughs and beautiful gardens throughout the facilities.

As an added bonus for motor home owners you can take a bus to Banbury with the stop just outside of our entrance.

Glamping

Pods

The camping pods are our latest venture and have proved extremely popular with our guests who are more in the mood to ‘glamp’ rather than camp, if you know what I mean!

These wonderful pods are well built insulated wooden huts that provide basic accommodation much in the way of a tent but saves the putting up and taking down, you don’t get wet , there’s heating and lighting plus it’s carpeted too; a home from home if you like!

They come in 2 sizes, the standard which measure 2.56m x 3.94m and the larger pod measuring 2.83m x4.77m. with a deck extending almost 2 metres for relaxing or sunbathing.

We provide the picnic tables and tree blocks to put your BBQ’s on if required.

As we like to say…‘Go Podding’. Remember all you need is your bedding and cooking gear, we have the tables and shower facilities…and of course the Pods!!

We look forward to seeing you. The pods really are great fun and the kids just love them!!

Glamping Arc

Glamping Arc Oxfordshire The Glamping Arc is a fully insulated and watertight tent and will sleep 4/5 persons. The interior is fitted with a sofa bed, table and chairs, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. There is also a heater and overhead electric lighting.

The size is 4.9 mtrs long and 3.3 mtrs wide. In addition there is a decking area for outdoor dining or just lounging.

Holiday Cottages

The Shippon and The Byre have been lovingly restored from old cow byres to cosy and intimate self-catering cottages finished to a fine quality to meet all your needs. Constructed from a combination of local Hornton stone and tumbled red brick, they have been sympathetically converted to blend in with the surrounding area but at the same time providing modern amenities.

The Jeffries family have farmed at Mollington since 1954 rearing beef cattle, sheep and corn but now Darrel and Anita breed Pedigree Suffolk sheep, showing at major shows. Another passion is, well Anitaís really, the lovely welsh mountain ponies which can be seen in the surrounding fields.

The surrounding area provides a wonderful opportunity to take relaxing walks from the farm across the fields or visit the many interesting stately homes, Blenheim Palace, Upton House, Compton Verney; great gardens like Hidcote, Coughton Court, Brook Cottage Gardens, or maybe some retail therapy at Bicester Village, Oxford, Banbury or Stratford- upon- Avon. For the vintage car enthusiasts, Gaydon motor museum is just a momentís drive away or for the sportier thereís Silverstone in the epicentre of motor racing country. We are surrounded by beautiful Cotswold villages so take a leisurely drive and dine out at one of the many country pubs on offer. Provided in the cottages are illustrated lists of local pubs that will satisfy any requirement.

The Shippon
The Shippon Holiday Cottage OxfordshireThe Shippon is the first cottage as you approach from our driveway. Enter through the lovely solid oak door into the well equipped kitchen.

There is a good sized kitchen table to sit around and enjoy your meals. One step up into the sitting room there are comfortable armchairs and settee. HD television with, complimentary DVDs and plenty of books to read.

From the sitting room you can go out onto the patio area and enjoy the sunshine.

A comfortable double bedroom is a step down from the kitchen which has its own tastefully tiled en-suite shower room. Also provided is a hairdryer, radio, linen and heating.

The Byre
The Byre Holiday Cottage OxfordshireThe Byre is next door to The Shippon, all on the same level. The entrance takes you through into the sitting room, comfortably furnished with HD TV and complimentary books and DVDs.

Local Area

Banbury CrossOn site we have a new reception and small shop which can supply you with those little things you forgot. Milk, eggs…tent pegs!! We even have an on-site bakery for croissants, pan au chocolate, Danish pastries, baguettes and breads. What a lovely aroma in the morning!

We have a comprehensive range of leaflets and information of what’s on and where to go.

In the surrounding villages or Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, there are a wonderful range of country pubs which provide good food to suite all pockets and tastes. Anita has prepared a list of local pubs to visit so please ask for one when you arrive.

Locally there are farm shops, lovely garden centres and nice pop-in places to eat and relax; of course there are many attractions around our area which are detailed on the Attractions page plus one off events on the What’s On page.

Banbury is our nearest town so retail therapy isn’t far away for those who you who need to take a break from the wilderness and visit your old friend the high street!

Anita’s is here to help you enjoy yourself so, if you want a lazy time with us just sit back and relax or you can go for a stroll in the countryside. We have printed walks to guide you so you don’t get lost…just ask.

Life goes at a steady pace here…lovely!

We are here to help and guide you for whatever you wish to do and wherever you want to go.

Don’t forget, nothing is too much trouble for us, so don’t be shy just ask us.

The kitchen is next to the sitting room, fully fitted with integrated oven, fridge etc. and all culinary equipment needed to create a lovely meal if you wish to dine in. From the kitchen you enter the double bedroom which is cosy and tastefully furnished with its own fitted en-suite shower room.

Extras include hair dryer, radio, linen and heating all included. We have a laundry room available just a few steps away with a washing machine and tumble drier free for your use.

Directions

Anita’s is situated in the village of Mollington and we are pretty easy to find.

If you are travelling up the M40 then leave the motorway at junction 11 (Banbury) Take the left lane off (A422) and go a short distance to a roundabout where you should go straight ahead to another small roundabout. Go straight on again until you reach a larger roundabout where you take the right hand road which will be signposted to Southam (A423) Travel about 4miles to Mollington. The village sign will be on your left but DON’T go down into the village. Go past the village turn, still travelling on the A423 go 100yds and you will come to a lay-by on the left.

Turn into the top entrance where you will see our gateway signed Anita’s Touring Caravan Park & Holiday Cottages.

Drive 100yds where you will see our house, The Yews. I will show you to your cottage, caravan pitch or Pod.

If you are travelling southerly on the M40, again take the same junction(11) and come off the right hand lane around the roundabout till you get to the A422(Banbury) sign and continue as above.

Travellers coming southerly on the M1 then I suggest you get on to the M69 to Coventry off of the Leicester junction(21) this will run directly onto the A46. You will reach a large roundabout (This will be the 3rd one along this stretch from the beginning of M69) Turn left onto the A45 travelling a short distance and slip off the A45 onto the A423 signposted Ryton. Travel approx 10 miles to Southam and a further 8 miles to Mollington.

Our entrance is on your right as go past the first small road into the village. Turn right into the lay-by where you will see our sign. Drive 100yds to our house. The Yews.

Please phone me if you are unsure of directions. We haven’t lost anyone yet!
