What was great?
We have stayed here both in a tent and a caravan. What a great small site this is. As you drive on there is an overnight bay in case you are late. The gate is fob operated for security and locked overnight. The reception is cleaning an inviting by the staff. Once on your plot you notice that there is a small hedge between you and the next van for privacy. There is two types of pitch the normal one which you collect and dispose of your water and the super pitch which has both provided. There is a small shop on site for items you may have forgotten or broken.

Even better if....
Bank holidays you have to book three nights stay. With work can't always do this

What was great?
good location. toilet block very nice and modern within "The laurels" a man on a bike cycles in front of you to show you where to go, he also asked if we needed any help with setting up. top bloke with nice manners. small shop with a few essentials, bread milk juice, awning pegs, toilet chemical etc. but expect to pay handsomely for the pleasure. we bought a step which was £25, the same step is £17.99 from our local caravan showroom.

Even better if....
quite a few dogs not on leads, making our daughter weary about going to the playpark. wi-fi hardly worked during our 2 week stay as other users were abusing the fair use policy. We only paid to stay on the laurels so that we could have wi-fi. the customer care took no responsibility for the poor connection and blamed it on other site users. several commercial vans at caravans which seem to be on annual pitches. the security barrier used to lay open for some time during the day which i wasn't keen on, the receptionist said it was to allow caravaners to get out the site quickly on their day of departure. receptionists quite snippy and not that pleasant to speak to. the windows on the toilet block are open 24 hrs a day which means at night the insects are rife. all over the ceilings. some insect mesh would be handy.

What was great?
This is a nice sized site and has different sections depending on how much you want in facilities and want to spend. We stayed in our van on a standard pitch with electric hookup for 4 nights and I thought it a very reasonable cost. You can book a luxury fully serviced pitch and WiFi for a few pounds a day extra. Tents and vans are mixed together on certain sections and I like this easy going approach. Toilets and showers were clean and in good repair with plentiful hot water, hair dryers, liquid soap dispensers and hand dryers, all working. There is a small shop on site with a limited stock of the basics, including chilled wine and beer, food, papers and caravan and camping supplies. Staff were very helpful and friendly. they escort you to your pitch and even help you set up if you need it. We had our Cavalier King Charles with us and she was well catered for with a huge area for walks. This is set up as a nature haven, the field having been left to grow wild. They have then cut 2 meter wide paths around and meandering through the field. There is also a large play field opposite for ball games, kite flying etc. Everyone on site seemed happy and having a great holiday but thats what I have come to expect from campers and caravanners, all a friendly bunch. So in conclusion we had a great time, loads to do and see in the local area and this is an excellent base to explore this wonderful area of the Yorkshire coastline.

Even better if....
Don't expect spectacular views but there are plenty just up the road at Cayton Bay. There are plenty of cassette toilet emptying facilities but I couldn't find a grey waste water emptying point, necessitating me lifting a 35 litre wastemaster up to the toilet disposal. Just as well I'm strong and fit.

What was great?
Plenty for the kids to do and plenty of space. Just down the road is the beach which is one of the better ones.

What was great?
There is no pub on site but one within a short walk which served and good pint and they also serve a nice bar meal. Also further in the village you can get the same but the also have Sky which is what we wanted due to the Grand Prix.

What was great?
There are plenty of walks to do around the area. If you turn right out of the site then you get all the inland walking you want. If you turn left then in half a mile is the golden beach which has miles of walking. Do it it's a great place.
