Welcome to Crosslaw Caravan Park

Discover the spectacular beauty and romantic history of the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland from the secluded sanctuary of Crosslaw Park. Set in the verdant rolling countryside of glorious Berwickshire, Crosslaw has been awarded four stars by the Scottish Tourist Board, and is the perfect location for a relaxing family holiday, throughout the year.

With twenty-two acres of perfect parkland, including three hundred pitches and well-tended grounds, Crosslaw is a real home from home, where you can forget the cares of everyday life, and get down to some real relaxation. Located right beside the lovely Berwickshire village of Coldingham, and just one mile from the stunning costal village of St Abbs, Crosslaw Park sets the standard for quality, service and location.

Naturally the whole of the caravan park is immaculately maintained, as are each if the individual pitches. We are proud to say that Crosslaw has been owned by the same family since 1963 through many generations, and continues to exceed both guests and clients expectations, whether staying with us for a short break, or as a holiday home owner. Now celebrating its Golden Jubilee after fifty years of innovation and impeccable service, Crosslaw Park is renowned for its high standards, great location and proud heritage. Whether you choose to stay with us at Crosslaw in a touring caravan, tent or become one of our cherished residents, you’ll love the well-appointed facilities we have to offer you, while open eleven months of the year, such as a launderette with commercial sized machines and an on-site shop stocking Calor Gas products. There’s a safe children’s play area and tranquil woodland walks. We have WiFi Internet access to keep you in touch with the office, update your social media pages with your holiday photos, or plan your next outing in the Borders and Northumberland.

Facilities

Naturally both touring caravan and tent visitors to the campsite have access to the well-maintained shower and toilet block, and all other luxury facilities on the site, such as the launderette which has commercial sized washing and drying machines, and a licensed lounge and bar which have games machines and a pool table. Visitors to the campsite with tents have twelve well-tended grass pitches, and like the touring caravan Super Pitches, also have 16-amp hook-up for electrical items.
The 2014 tariff for caravans is just £19.50 per night, or £117 per week, on a luxury hard standing Super Pitch, which includes 16-amp hook-up, a standpipe for fresh water, drainage of grey water, and is inclusive of VAT.
The tariff for tents is only £18.50 per night, or £111 per week, and includes a grass pitch, a 16 amp electrical hook-up, and is inclusive of VAT.
A supplementary charge of £1 per person per night is charged for all touring visitors over the age of three. For children under the age of three the supplementary charge is just 50p per night. Crosslaw Park is a safe and family friendly environment, with a playground and lots of recreation space for children.

The Local Area

The local region is awash with history and places of stunning natural beauty. From the craggy shores of Berwickshire to the golden sandy World Heritage beaches of North Northumberland, and the crenelated silhouettes of Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Alnwick castles: History is alive and vibrant right across the region. For star gazers, the Northumberland National Park has a new observatory where the stars shine all the more brightly without the glare of light pollution at night; and through the day you can revel in the beauty of nature, bird and wildlife watching, walking, sailing or cycling.

An hour to the North of Crosslaw Park you will find the exquisite Georgian architecture and famous conviviality of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. An hour to the south, and you’ll discover the bright lights of the entertainment capital of the North East, Newcastle. From the east end of Hadrian’s Wall at Walls end to the western end at Carlisle, this famous Roman boundary can be walked or cycled across its full length. Punctuated by Roman fortresses and outposts, such as Vindolanda and Housesteads, the wall and its excavated ruins can be visited throughout the year.

Good site for NE Region

What was great?
Was in a small village near to the small fishing village of St Abbs where a number of boats go out with divers. Shore diving there too. The site had a small pub which did food. In the village were two pubs that served great food and good beer. From here you could visit Berwick on Tweed, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Plenty of pitches all of a good size and a number which double up for tents.

Even better if....
It is very close to a country lane and on a morning and evening traffic speeds down there creating some noise

Scuba Diving

What was great?
Again this site gets better and better for me. The pitches are a good size, plenty of room in between and enough for the van, awning and car. The toilets are clean and always checked every day. Now for the sub divers amongst you. St Abbs is only a mile away where you can find a number of boats to take you out along the coast. Paul from Rock House Diving who is on the harbour will do you air fills, sandwiches and take you out on one of his boats, they are a good size and have plenty of room for all the divers. He does four runs in a day so you will be able to get on two of them. If it's a week day and only a couple of you he will still take you out. Some great dives and if your lucky you will se Lumpsuckers or Wolfe fish.

Even better if....
Even with all the signs saying dogs on lead around the camp site there are still people walking them off the lead and can't control them when they meet other dogs. Staff are doing their best.

Every little helps

What was great?
Plenty of ramps and access into the facilities with extra wide doors. Tarmacaden roads with easy access around all the camp site.

No hard standing pitches all with shale

What was great?
We have just gained a rescue dog so I can now review these sites better. This is a great site in the countryside with lots of areas for walking the dog. It has a wooded walk that can be done in about to to fifteen minutes where there is plenty of wildlife and a stream at the bottom. It has a number of steps at the beginning or end whichever way you go so not good for the infirm. There is a wooded walk over the road that brings you out in the village of Coldingham nearer to a dog friendly pub called The Anchor. Go to Coldingham beach and there are miles of beaches and small coves where there are no other dogs so you can let them off the lead. We did a 4 mile walk around St Abbs head which is well signposted but a little steep along the cliff edges so if it's not your thing just come back along the loch which is flat. Some great views along the coast and the nesting birds.

What was great?
The car park is next to the pub which is one of two in the village. The food in there is second to none and on a weekend you must book as it gets full with divers from the nearby St Abbs. Try the scallops, black pudding on a bed of mushy peas. Hmmm

What was great?
Well what can I say this is the place for walks, either coastal or country or both. On the site is a David Belemy nature reserve in the woods, the village post office has a booklet of local walks for a couple of pounds. The one through the Abby, caravan park and village is a great one too.

What was great?
Go to the little shop in the car park next to the old Abby and buy a walking map of the local area for a couple of pounds. You can walk as long or as far as you like. Just a couple of miles around the village or on the coastal paths just down the road at ST Abbs. Miles and miles
