What was great?
Was in a small village near to the small fishing village of St Abbs where a number of boats go out with divers. Shore diving there too. The site had a small pub which did food. In the village were two pubs that served great food and good beer. From here you could visit Berwick on Tweed, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Plenty of pitches all of a good size and a number which double up for tents.

Even better if....
It is very close to a country lane and on a morning and evening traffic speeds down there creating some noise

What was great?
Again this site gets better and better for me. The pitches are a good size, plenty of room in between and enough for the van, awning and car. The toilets are clean and always checked every day. Now for the sub divers amongst you. St Abbs is only a mile away where you can find a number of boats to take you out along the coast. Paul from Rock House Diving who is on the harbour will do you air fills, sandwiches and take you out on one of his boats, they are a good size and have plenty of room for all the divers. He does four runs in a day so you will be able to get on two of them. If it's a week day and only a couple of you he will still take you out. Some great dives and if your lucky you will se Lumpsuckers or Wolfe fish.

Even better if....
Even with all the signs saying dogs on lead around the camp site there are still people walking them off the lead and can't control them when they meet other dogs. Staff are doing their best.

What was great?
Plenty of ramps and access into the facilities with extra wide doors. Tarmacaden roads with easy access around all the camp site.

Even better if....
No hard standing pitches all with shale

What was great?
We have just gained a rescue dog so I can now review these sites better. This is a great site in the countryside with lots of areas for walking the dog. It has a wooded walk that can be done in about to to fifteen minutes where there is plenty of wildlife and a stream at the bottom. It has a number of steps at the beginning or end whichever way you go so not good for the infirm. There is a wooded walk over the road that brings you out in the village of Coldingham nearer to a dog friendly pub called The Anchor. Go to Coldingham beach and there are miles of beaches and small coves where there are no other dogs so you can let them off the lead. We did a 4 mile walk around St Abbs head which is well signposted but a little steep along the cliff edges so if it's not your thing just come back along the loch which is flat. Some great views along the coast and the nesting birds.

What was great?
The car park is next to the pub which is one of two in the village. The food in there is second to none and on a weekend you must book as it gets full with divers from the nearby St Abbs. Try the scallops, black pudding on a bed of mushy peas. Hmmm

Well what can I say this is the place for walks, either coastal or country or both. On the site is a David Belemy nature reserve in the woods, the village post office has a booklet of local walks for a couple of pounds. The one through the Abby, caravan park and village is a great one too.

What was great?
Go to the little shop in the car park next to the old Abby and buy a walking map of the local area for a couple of pounds. You can walk as long or as far as you like. Just a couple of miles around the village or on the coastal paths just down the road at ST Abbs. Miles and miles
