Carefree Holidays for all the family

Whatever your tastes, Dyffryn Seaside Estate offers a warm welcome.

The estate is beautifully situated near Harlech and Barmouth and it sums up Meirionnydd’s own proud motto, Tra Mor, Tra Meirion; betwixt sea and mountain.

Two miles of magnificent beach, mostly sand, offers joy to kiddies and adults alike. The Estate greets you with an immediate sense of release and space; 800 acres of it, all level and much pleasantly planted with trees. To these natural endowments has been added every modern facility.

Accommodation to suit everyone

We have a range of accommodation options for you, whether you want to hire one of our quality bungalows or static caravans, or bring your own touring caravan or camping equipment.

Bungalows

Our 4 & 6 berth bungalows come with all the mod-cons and offer a home from home.

Caravans

A range of 4 & 6 Berth caravans are available in the latest models.

Camping

We have space fo up to 200 tents on a spacious level site and many of the camping pitches are equipped with electrical hook ups and individual water taps.

Touring Vans

There are 35 touring caravan pitches, each one with an electrical and water supply. We also accept touring caravans on a seasonal basis.

Bungalows and Caravans

All accommodation that we let are fully furnished and are supplied with gas, electricity & membership to our indoor leisure complex included in the price, they include as standard shower, toilet, fridge, cooker, TV & DVD, pots & pans, cutlery, duvets & duvet covers & pillows.

We do not supply sheets, pillow slips or towels – you are required to bring these yourself.

Camping & Touring

We do not accept bookings from All Male or Female Groups or From Large Groups.

Pets Are Welcome On The Camping Field But They Must Be Kept On A Lead At All Times.

Holiday Home Sales
Dyffryn Seaside Estate is a family run business with a wealth of experience in providing quality locations for holiday homes.

We have customers who have owned holiday homes on our parks for over 20 years, some have stayed for over 30 years – we even have customers who have left, only to return at a later date, a number of families have had three generations of ownership.

We look forward to being of service and assistance to you. New holiday homes can be purchased from Salop Leisure, occasionally we do have a small selection of new vans on display at the park.

Our on park facilities are ideal for all the family, our play area will provide endless fun for children of all ages and then of an evening enjoy entertainment as a family in the pub.

Fish & Chips

There is a traditional Fish & Chip shop available serving all the family favourites.

Entertainment

Our pub is a great place for the family to enjoy and relax of an evening. Some great acts will be appearing throughout the season, there’s something to entertain everyone.

Shop

Offering a good range of fresh and packaged food, as well as non-food items from disposable nappies or shampoo, to flip flops and sun cream. Well priced, brilliantly easy and convenient.

Laundrette

Travel light. Our Laundrette is available daily, and right on your doorstep, with large washing machines and big tumble dryers that make light work of a big family wash.

Beach Access

From the Park there is access points to the beach, where you can take a short walk over the sand dunes. You will find sandy beaches which is ideal for sunbathing, building sandcastles or taking a leisurely stroll.

Site Rules

1. Campers must pay on arrival at the Estate reception. Late arrivals may pitch their tents on condition they pay there camping fees for a stated period by 11.00am on the following morning. Last arrival time on the camping field is 9.00pm (No refunds for any reason)

2. Campers must vacate their pitch by 11.00am on the last day of their stated period and are requested to leave the pitch in a clean and tidy condition.

3. No music or excessive noise permitted between the hours of 11pm and 8am and campers must at all times conduct themselves with due regard to others.

4. Adults or children must not dig holes on site.

5. Any person found damaging Estate property or being the cause of a disturbance at any time will be told to leave the site immediately.

6. Dogs are allowed on the camping field, in all cases dogs must not be allowed to foul the camping site, they must be exercised away from the site and kept on a lead at all times.

7. Refuse must be left at the dispersal points on the camping field and if it is necessary to use stones or bricks campers are requested to return them to their former surroundings.

8. Legal proceedings will be taken against any person found giving water, shower cards etc, to people who are not staying on Dyffryn Seaside Estate.

9. No firearms, fireworks or sky lanterns are allowed on the camping field or adjoining sand hills.

10. No one must use the hand basins other than for personal use, there are washing up facilities provided at the end of each toilet block. A Laundrette is located opposite the reception for your clothes etc.

11. Tents must be spaced 6 meters apart.

12. Vehicles must not be taken across the sand hills or on the beach.

13. No camping in the sand hills or adjoining car park.

14. No open fires, proprietary BBQ’s may be used with care, disposable BBQ’s are to be disposed of in the correct manner. (As instructed on the bin stands)

15. Only 1 tent permitted on each electrical hook up pitch. Maximum amperage is 6amps.

16. Maximum size of tent is 6 metres X 6 metres.

17. Only 1 touring caravan and awning permitted on each electrical hook up pitch, all awnings and caravans must be on the hard standing plots and not on the grassed area.

18. Only 2 cars to be parked by each tent or caravan, Jet Ski’s & Boats must be parked on the Car Park.

19. A 15mph speed limit is enforced on the Estate.

20. Children must be supervised at all times, especially when they are riding their bikes.

21. Whilst the Estate is private property it is still an offence to “Drink & Drive”, the Police will be called to anyone suspected of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

Things to do

Welsh Highland Heritage Railway

Your journey takes about an hour, but you won’t be on the train for most of the time!

We’ll take you on a short train ride, then we stop at the Engine Sheds where you get to climb into the cabs of the locomotives and see how things work. Find out about the narrow gauge railways of Porthmadog and how they became famous around the world with your free visitor guide.

Portmerion

Portmeirion is a popular tourist village. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village and is now owned by a charitable trust.

Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in the 1960s television show The Prisoner.

Harlech Castle

Spectacularly sited Harlech Castle seems to grow naturally from the rock on which it is perched. Like an all seeing sentinel, it gazes out across land and sea, keeping a watchful eye over Snowdonia.

The English monarch Edward I built Harlech in the late 13th century to fulfil this very role. It was one of the most formidable of his ‘iron ring’ of fortresses designed to contain the Welsh in their mountain fastness.

Talyllyn Railway

The Talyllyn Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway, set in the beautiful Mid-Wales countryside. Running from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol, the line passes the delightful Dolgoch Falls and there are excellent forest walks at Nant Gwernol.

It’s a rural byway where the pace of life is gentle, the average speed of the train is still less than nine miles per hour, and passengers can have an unhurried journey along the beautiful and unspoilt Fathew Valley. Both the original locomotives and all the original carriages remain in regular use to this day.

Go Ape

Go Ape is a giant obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and top it all off with the country’s best zip lines.

They kit people out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners, give them a 30 minute safety briefing and training and let them loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees. Of course, instructors are always on hand, regularly patrolling the forests.

The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun.

Corris Craft Centre

Corris Craft Centre, near Machynlleth in Mid Wales, has ten Craft workshops packed with unique hand crafted items for your home, garden and gifts for others.

Talented craftspeople can be seen producing a range of quality items ranging from traditional, rustic and contemporary. Visitors to the Craft Centre will see the Craftspeople at work and can buy directly from them. The perfect place for very special, yet slightly unusual, items for your home and gifts for others. Also a great place for your Christmas shopping.

Corris Railway

The Corris Railway is a narrow gauge preserved railway based in Corris on the border between Merionethshire (now Gwynedd) and Montgomeryshire (now Powys) in Mid-Wales.

The line opened in 1859, and originally ran from Machynlleth north to Corris and on to Aberllefenni. Branches served the slate quarries at Corris Uchaf, Aberllefenni, the isolated quarries around Ratgoed and quarries along the length of the Dulas Valley.

The railway closed in 1948, but a preservation society was formed in 1966, initially opening a museum; a short section of line between Corris and Maespoeth was re-opened to passengers in 2002. The railway now operates as a tourist attraction. A new steam locomotive was built for the railway, which was delivered in 2005. The two surviving locomotives, plus some of the original rolling stock, are preserved on the nearby Talyllyn Railway.

Corris Mine Explorers

Step back in time with Corris Mine Explorers in Mid Wales as you explore the workings of an old Welsh Slate Mine.

This rare opportunity takes you into the vast underground caverns of the disused mines and way back to 1836 when the mines were first worked. See the machinery and miners’ tools, their candles and even a packet of cigarettes. It feels as if the miners have just gone with lots of things they left behind still in place.

Your guide will help you to discover the old Braich Goch Mine and give you a real insight into the tough working conditions endured by our forefathers.

This is a part of our heritage and a truly authentic Welsh experience. Definitely not to be missed.

King Arthurs Labyrinth

Sail underground,, and deep inside the spectacular caverns of the Labyrinth and far back in time.

Once inside the Labyrinth, your hooded boatman guides you through tunnels and vast caverns, whilst you enjoy tales of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends. Stories of dragons, of giants, of battles and many more are told, complete with dramatic scenes, sound and light effects.

Cool when Hot and Dry when Wet, this is the perfect all-weather attraction.

Centre for Alternative Technology

Built in an old slate quarry in the foothills of Snowdonia our visitor centre has 7 acres of interactive displays, organic gardens, cafe, shop and adventure playground. It opened in 1974 when CAT was only a small community starting to put sustainable living to the test.Now the organisation has grown in size and reach, welcoming 50,000 visitors and school children every year, providing free information to over 200,000 people and offering postgraduate courses to 500 students each year.

Living more sustainably saves money, creates green jobs, provides a healthier lifestyle and makes sense. There are many solutions already available to tackle the issues our planet faces. Come and explore what you can do.

Coed y Brenin Forest Park

Coed y Brenin is home to some of the finest mountain biking in the UK with waymarked technical trails and a newly opened family route, all based from the Visitor Centre at Dolgefeilliau.

There are also a number of waymarked all-ability and family walking trails, two running trails, a magnificent tiered childrens play area, bike hire and a stunning cafe with views to die for!

National White Water Centre

Based near Bala, North Wales, we developed the first commercial white water rafting operation in the UK in 1986, and since then we have grown to become the largest and most well-respected white water rafting organisation in the UK.

The Tryweryn is a dam released river so water is often flowing when other British rivers are dry, thus producing a unique year round white water venue.

Bala Lake Railway

Bala Lake Railway offers a delightful 9-mile return journey alongside Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid), through the beautiful and natural Snowdonia National Park.

The 2ft narrow gauge steam trains give excellent views of the lake amid its surrounding pastoral and woodland scenery, and of the nearby mountains, Arenig Fawr, Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy.

Llanuwchllyn (the village above the lake) is the Railway HQ and regular trains link the village with the delightful market town of Bala.

At Llanuwchllyn, visitors can see the steam locomotives being serviced prior to coupling onto the train, can view the 1896-built Signal Box in operation and can enjoy light refreshments in the Station Buffet. Often, visitors can visit the railway’s other engines in their shed.

Machination

Machination is the only permanent exhibition of contemporary Automata (mechanical moving models) in the UK.

Our hands-on interactive moving model characters spin, whirl or bob up and down with fascinating mechanisms displaying cogs, cams and levers – an infinite variety of movement.

The friendly staff in our open plan cafe will serve you great home made meals and snacks, give you local information, sympathy for the travel weary and a general hearty welcome. There is a painting table permanently set up for children and a basket of toys too so plenty to entertain the young ones while the older generation enjoy tea.

We also have a shop with unusual gifts and toys for all ages.

There is our rabbit village that provides endless entertainment, watch them from the cafe window or go out to feed and stroke them.

Royal St. David’s Golf Club

Nationally and internationally renowned, Royal St David’s is one of Wales’ premier golf courses. It provides a challenging test of golf in a breathtaking setting in the most beautiful and scenic part of the Principality and dominated by the brooding presence of Harlech Castle.

Established in 1894, Royal St David’s Golf Club is the home of one of the finest traditional links courses in the world. The undulating fairways and fast true greens are all that would be expected of a championship links course.

The course is rated 73rd in the Golf Digest Best 100 courses outside the USA, 43rd in Golf World’s Top 100 courses in Britain & Ireland and 45th in Golf Monthly’s Top 100 in the UK & Ireland.
