Welcome to Highlands End Holiday Park

The perfect destination for a family walking holiday or couples retreat, located along the UNESCO World Heritage, Jurassic Coast cliff top, with panoramic coastal views across to Lyme Regis and Portland Bill. The Holiday Park is a 500 metre coastal walk from Eype Beach and 1.5 miles to the bustling market town of Bridport. The park has a quality Restaurant and Bar and an exclusive Leisure Club, with an indoor heated swimming pool and gym. There is an onsite shop offering all your holiday and camping needs with connecting tourist information, and the barn converted "Cowshed Cafe", a warm luxury seating area, to relax with a cappuccino and soak up the stunning views across Eype Downs.

Camping & Touring

The pitching areas are all set on top of the Jurassic coast cliff top with stunning views east and west of the historical coastal line. When you wake up in the morning and look out from your tent or tourer, these views are guaranteed to take your breath away. The touring and camping areas are surrounded by 150 acres of West Country hillside, everything you could be looking for in an escape or walking holiday.

Hard standing pitches
A 7 x 4.5 metre concrete base suitable for touring vehicles and motorhomes with an electric hook up, water and drainage with an adjacent car parking space.

Gravel pitches
A 7 x 4.5 metre gravel base, suitable for touring vehicles and motorhomes, they all come with electric hook ups and have an adjacent car parking space.

Grass pitches with electric
These grass areas come with electric hook ups and can be used by tents, touring vehicles and motorhomes, with an adjacent car parking space.

Grass pitches
This is a large field only used for camping, with amazing views of the coastline.

There are 2 buildings with toilets and showers, all heated with modern décor. There is a laundry room, washing up area and disabled facilities. Also on park is a restaurant, bar, shop, tourist information, WIFI areas, 2 children’s play areas and coffee shop with stunning views of Eype Downs.

All customers have the use of the Leisure Club facilities which includes an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room, and an outdoor tennis court and pitch n putt. These facilities are not included in the total pitching price. They are charged on a standard pay as you use system when at the Holiday Park.

Extra information
Advanced bookings are essential during peak periods and a minimum of 3 nights applies. Unfortunately Gazebos are not permitted and it is recommended that customers with large RV’s phone in advance, due to a limited number of suitable pitches. The electric hook up supply is 10 amp.

Camping Pods

Fancy camping but don’t want the bother of putting up a tent? Perhaps you need a little extra comfort and want to try a new style of holiday? Well look no further, come and try our new camping pods, bring all your camping gear except the tent.

These innovative pods are hand crafted in Dorset by Regal Holiday Homes; each wooden camping pod is 4.8m long x 2.44 metres wide. They are fully insulated with double glazed patio doors and a small wooden porch which includes 2 attached wooden boot boxes that can be used as seating benches on the porch area.

A camping pod sleeps 4 adults /children comfortably with a double and twin beds with mattresses. The two sleeping areas have a small wooden partition and archway that separate the double from the twins. You would need to provide your own pillows and bed linen or sleeping bag if you want that camping feeling. There is electricity with a light, a small heater, a double plug socket, a fully functional smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm inside the pod and free use of the communal toilets and shower blocks that have recently been refurbished.

The camping pods are situated on the stunning Jurassic coast cliff top, a perfect base for walking and family fun holidays. There is parking available for 1 car per pod and unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside. BBQ’s are permitted on the grass area around the pod and we supply bricks for the BBQ’s to be placed on.

Caravan Hire

There are 2 standards of caravan available for hire the Premier Sea View and the Premier. All the caravans are no older than 5 years and are all maintained to an excellent standard. All have insulated walls, double glazing and central heating and each home has a fitted kitchen with crockery, a private bathroom a television and a DVD player. The fleet offer a home from home experience with that special holiday feeling.

Premier Sea View
These caravans are our exclusive fleet. All on the front row with the best views of the Jurassic Coast and surrounding countryside. Each caravan has views from the open plan living area and private decking, which are supplied with personal picnic benches. The caravans offer either a 2 bed option which sleeps 4 people; this is 1 x double bed and 1 x twin bed or else the 3 bed option which sleeps 6 people; this is 1 x double bed and 2 x twin bedrooms. Dogs are welcome in a select few of these caravans and an extra charge is incurred with a maximum of 2 dogs are allowed per caravan.

Premier hire caravans
Premier hire caravans, these caravans are set behind the Premier Sea View caravans with partial views of the stunning countryside. They all come with private parking and have a decking area with a picnic bench. These caravans offer either a 2 bed option which sleeps 4 people, this is 1 x double bed and 1 x twin bed or the 3 bed option which sleeps 6 people; this is 1 x double bed and 2 x twin bedrooms. Dogs are welcome in these caravans but an extra charge will be incurred and a maximum of 2 dogs is allowed.

Linen packs
Linen packs – All the caravans are supplied with duvets and pillows but the linen is not provided. You can either bring your own or else we offer packs for hire, this must be requested at the time of booking and can be replenished weekly at an extra cost. Towels and tea towels are not provided and you would need to bring your own. Cots and highchairs are available for hire.

Lodges

Now available for hire at Highlands End Holiday Park are the 2 and 3 bedroom lodges. These lodges have uninterrupted views of the Dorset coast and countryside, with Portland Bill on the horizon.

The environment and sustainability are very important to West Dorset Leisure Holidays and these stylish holiday lodges blend in with the stunning West Country surroundings and set new boundaries for that dream holiday.

Inside the lodges the architect has used practical designs with the holidaymaker in mind, creating open plan living, the best way to make the most of those precious family moments whilst on holiday together.

Each lodge has a fully fitted kitchen, one double bedroom with an ensuite shower room and two /one twin bedrooms (depending on unit size) with a shared bathroom. The wooden balcony provides an ideal place to unwind and make the most of the stunning panoramic coastal and countryside views. For the more active, passes to the Leisure Club are included, which comprises of an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room.

With family holidays in mind the new development allows for two cars to be parked alongside and one of our lodges is dog friendly, welcoming to the whole family.

A wide selection of brand new and pre owned, modern caravan holiday homes are for sale with excellent pitch rates, overlooking the Jurassic Coast.

Leisure Club

Everyone is welcome at the exclusive Highlands End Leisure Club; become a member for the competitive package rates, or as a holiday maker come and relax in the sauna; boost your energy levels in the gymnasium or unwind in the prestige swimming pool. The children will love the fun pitch n putt or a good knock around on the tennis court.

Holiday park residents must be aware that the Leisure Club prices are separate from your total pitch fees. You will need to pay the Leisure Club directly when using, thank you.

Swimming pool, sauna & steam room
Our luxury pool is 20m x 9m and available to all age groups, there are however designated times for adult swimming sessions. The water temperature is kept at a comfortable 28 – 29 degrees with regular poolside checks by competent staff. The sauna & steam room are only available to customers over 18years old and please be aware that the swimming pool does not have a spectator area. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. There are designated male and female changing areas all with heated showers and baby changing units.

Gymnasium
Full equipmed gym at the Highlands End Holiday ParkThe gym is fully equipped with modern workout equipment, laid out to give plenty of space for floor work and stretching. The Gymnasium has a very friendly atmosphere and is only available to people over 15 years old. A gym induction or a personal fitness programme is available at an extra cost, instructed by a qualified personal trainer.

Tennis court
The outdoor tennis court is a standard hard base court with ball barrier fencing. The court is open to all including non-members. Tennis rackets and balls are available for hire from Highlands End main reception and the tennis court is available for use all year round, except the Christmas and New Year period. It is recommended to make reservations at reception to guarantee availability.

Pitch and Putt Golf for all the family
Shepherds down 9 hole pitch n putt course is located within 10 acres of Highlands End stunning grounds, with views across the heritage coastline. The course is open daily from March – November and Golf clubs, putters and balls can all be hired from the main reception, non-members are all welcome.

Lake fishing
Golden Cap holiday Park has a large fishing lake with different types of fresh water fish, including carp and roach and the lake has recently won a conservation award called the “David Bellamy Gold”. The lakes wooden dock is very pleasant to sit along and watch the wildlife unfold, whilst waiting for that catch of the day. You do need a fishing licence for this lake and that can be obtained locally, you would also need to bring your own fishing equipment.

Becoming a Leisure Club Member:
Membership forms can be collected from the reception area of Highlands End Holiday Park or Leisure club. The memberships are available on a banding system which includes bronze, silver and gold membership. Each band offers a different usage within the club and are all offered at very competitive rates.

Park Facilities

Cowshed Café
A pleasant seating area for if you need to take a break from your holiday home and want to sit back on a leather sofa and enjoy a cappuccino and light snack. The renovated cow shed is perfect for peace and quiet, with a wide screen TV showing the news and big, floor to ceiling windows opening up the views over Eype Downs and the heritage coastline.

Highlands End Shop
Local is best, we try and support our neighbouring businesses as much as possible, supplying their fresh produce in our shop. We have a wide selection of those day to day necessities with leading newspapers, magazines, that scrumptious chocolate bar and other mini indulgences. There is a section for touring and camping with those little accessories you might have accidently left at home and we offer a gas cylinder exchange service. We will soon be opening up a dog section to accompany our woof guide and to supply dog treats. We can post your mail, provide WIFI and can charge your mobile phone at a small fee. Our friendly shop staff will be happy to advise you and assist in your daily grocery needs.

Tourist Information
Connected to the shop and main reception, the tourist information offers many different leaflets of places to visit and things to do in the local area. Advertising local events and contact numbers for making reservations. There are large maps with pin pointed destinations and a TV that shows videos of attractions worth a visit. If you need more information or need to ask a question the reception and shop staff will always be more than happy to give advice.

Children Play Areas
There are two different children’s play areas, one in the restaurant garden area and the second next to the camping and touring field. Both have swings, slides and climbing apparatus. They’re great for kids to let off steam whilst the parents can sit on the benches and take in the spectacular coastal and countryside surroundings. The play areas are all layered with soft play bark and are checked daily by maintenance staff. Please ensure your child is always supervised by an adult.

Duck Pond
Nestled in the countryside grounds of Highlands End is the quaint duck pond, a man made pond beautiful to sit around and watch the wildlife unfold. You can purchase duck food from the Highlands End shop, great for the children to meet the ducks and enjoy the West Dorset countryside. The pond is set alongside a well maintained footpath that joins Highlands End Holiday Park to West Bay.

Restaurant & Bar

Everyone is welcome at Highlands End fully licenced Bar and Restaurant, its famous firstly for the good food but secondly for the 1936 Leyland Fire Engine and 1902 Merryweather Steam fire engine on display. The quirky bar supplies locally brewed real ales and all your favourite tipples. The restaurant has a great menu with a large choice of homemade meals, using locally sourced ingredients. Families are always welcome and we have a large beer garden which has spectacular views along the heritage coast and a children’s play area.

Private Functions:
Highlands End bar and restaurant the perfect venue for weddings, annual dinner and dances, birthdays, conferences, training sessions and Christmas partiesWe have a skilled and fully qualified team of kitchen staff and extremely welcoming waiting staff. All the members of Highlands End bar and restaurant have experience in catering for weddings, annual dinner and dances, birthdays, conferences, training sessions and Christmas parties. We offer a large selection of traditional menus with buffet options at different price levels. Menus can be altered to suit your requirements and if you would like to discuss options of any other type of event or menu then the catering management will always be happy to give advice.

Function Extras:
The main restaurant can seat 130 people and using an extra room 165 comfortably. We have our own movable dance floor with several adjustable sizes and can provide a data projector, screen, laptop, overhead projector, WIFI, flip chart, whiteboard with pens, TV and VCR. We enjoy themed occasions and will do our best to cater to your preferences. If your guests would like to relax at the end of the day we would be happy to include admission to our indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Highlands End Games Room
The games room which leads off from the main restaurant is complete with a pool table and arcade machines, great for entertaining the children on those rainy days or after dinner.

Hi, I'm Sydney - let me give you a few pointers for local dog walks and welcome to West Dorset Leisure Holidays, my name is Sydney and my family own the five holiday parks. It has recently been brought to my attention just how many dogs visit our holiday parks every year with their owners and after much discussion I have suggested it’s time to make a special guide just for my doggie friends. We decided the best tour guide for the job would be me, living here all my life I can take you on a woof journey of the best things to see and do…

Doggie rules
Sorry friends but we need to get this bit out of the way first. The most important thing to remember at the holiday parks are that we must be kept on a lead at all times, this means we have to follow the boss, make sure we don’t get into any trouble and try our best not to have any arguments with other dogs on holiday. Now, if you need a poop at the holiday park or on the public footpaths your owner must use a poop scoop and there are dog waste bins that must be used. Only 2 dogs are allowed per reservation (bring your best friend) and make sure your owner never leaves you unattended in our holiday park or in a hot car.

Phew, with that out of the way, now for the fun stuff
Highlands End Holiday Park has a large field that is used purely for exercising, we can be let off our lead and play freely, take in those stunning views of the Jurassic coast and Eype Downs – I bet our owners wonder if we will ever come back! But the nice fence around the field will keep us in unfortunately.

The other 4 holiday parks don’t have these exercise areas but that’s because they’re surrounded by National Trust land which is still a great opportunity for us with long country walks on designated footpaths surrounded by West Country countryside.

Buying something new
The holiday park shops currently sell most importantly our doggie dinners and snacks but will soon be supplying a whole new range of dog treats, we must keep our noses to the air and sniff out when the new supply arrives! Try and convince your boss to take some home rather than that horrible stick of rock.

Little extras coming soon
We are dog friendly at West Dorset Leisure Holidays group of ParksThe holiday parks will soon be providing new shower areas for us and automatic water filling drinking bowls, look out for these at main door entrances and clip areas to tie us up safely whilst our owners are buying our yummy holiday treats in the shop.

Fantastic park - amazing location

What was great?
Highlands End is located right on the cliff top on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. I have wanted to walk this section of the South West Coast Path for many years and the location of this park enabled me to do this with ease whilst staying in one of the fantastic camping pods at the park. During my stay I was able to walk from the park in both directions along the coast and get the X53 Jurassic Coast bus back to West Bay and walk back up to the park. During my stay the staff and the facilities at Highlands End were fantastic. The swimming pool was great to relax in after a day's walking and the beer in the bar was also a great healer!

Even better if....
I had had longer to stay and enjoy the views!
