What was great?
there is so much to Like about Hillend, situated behind the dunes from a great 4 mile beach. a spot to learn to surf and body board. swimming on calmer water days and general fun in the surf. hot water showers when you come off the beach outdoors keeping the main showers free from sand. The facilities are cleaned numerous times during the day and night. they keep the party guys away from the family fields so everyone can relax. They are firm but fair to be honest, we have never had an issue with the operaters they know who is on site and not paid so there is no fooling them. they allow family groups to camp close with friends and share space so often there is plenty of space between tents. no dogs and music which is nice and no mess to avoid and quiet nights without disturbance Eddys on site food shack is good too when you want a tasty hot meal, not the chepaest but good sized portions. in the region there are fantastic walks, rides and runs. many other sports on offer. cycling is fantastic both on and off road too.

Even better if....
to be really honest apart fom the British weather there is nothing about this site to dislike.
