What was great?
This is a top draw site. Vast pitches, planted with hedges for privacy. The owners have resisted the urge to 'double line' the avenues with pitches, resulting in tonnes of space. The site slopes but it terraced very creatively. The grass standings are immaculate, in fact it feels like you are camping in a vast garden. The shower block and facilities are top notch - even in high season there would be enough for everyone and they are very recently installed, so really clean and modern. The site is only a mile stroll down a country lane to Hope Cove - ideal for body boarding with the kids, rockpooling, sunbathing and eating in one of the many local bars, cafes and pubs. We had a great lunch at the Hope and Anchor pub. The site has a well stocked shop and the owners are very helpful and welcoming. it's an organised site, yes, but with a very laid back feel. What else to expect in sunny South Devon?! You can even pre-order breads and pain au chocolate from the shop each morning - a bonus!
