Little Wenfork Campsite - Home

This small family run South-East Cornwall site provides space for 5 pitches on a well kept gently sloping grass site, which is surrounded by open fields. It is situated some 5 miles away from the historic town of Launceston and near to the village of Treburley, just off the A388.

The site has unobstructed views of Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and the nearby country park of Kit Hill. It is ideally situated for those who are seeking a quiet relaxing site with easy access to both the South and North Cornish coasts and also nearby attractions of West Devon.
The site is only 35 minutes drive away from the Ferry in Plymouth, perfect for a stop over before departing or arriving from France & Spain.

Due to popular demand we supply a 5 Metre Bell Tent and a 4 Metre Bell Tent, both of which are fully equipped and ready for your use. (For further information, please click on Bell Tents). A fantastic way to camp where everthing is ready for you on your arrival!

Well you don’t have to do any of the above things if you come and stay with us in one of our lovely canvas Bell Tents!!!!!
Bell Tents are beautiful structures made out of pale coloured natural canvas and have provided shelter to thousands over the years. Both Bell Tents have cosy rugs, comfy beds, a gas cooking stove and BBQ, cooking pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, futon sofas, wind up LED lantern and tea lights. They also all come with water carrier and a food pantry box. A Kitchen trolley holds all of your basic camping equipment as well as the double ring burner and grill (Gas). Each tent has a front canvas porch which is a good place to store any muddy boots away from the rest of the tent.

A Wooden table and chairs are also provided, and should the temperature be a little on the 'cool side' then you can use the ‘Pip Squeak’ wood burning stove.

The Bell Tents are well made with double stitched wax sealed seams to ensure complete water resistance. Every panel is made with a very high quality heavy duty treated canvas. All tents have a raised wooden flooring to keep everyone warm and dry, are light and airy structures and the sides can even be rolled up to create your own floating canopy.

How many does each Bell Tent sleep?

The 4 metre Bell Tent can comfortably accommodate two people. Inside there is one double sofa bed which can be folded away in the day to make a pleasant seating area. There is also room for a cot or small childs bed if required. The 5 metre Bell Tent can accommodate up to 4 people, there is one double futon sofabed and two single futon beds which could become a large second double. There is also room for a cot or small childs bed if required.

Will I be warm enough?

Yes, all of our Bell Tents have a 4 KW wood burning stove which will keep you all cosy and warm. Firewood and kindling is also provided.

Is the Bell Tent waterproof?

Yes, the Bell Tents are covered with a tough waterproof canvas layer which keeps out the worst the Cornish weather can throw at it.

Are the Bell Tents secure?

They are only as secure as any normal tent. Please be aware that they are located on a campsite which is accessible to all, Take your valuables with you or lock them in your car. Little Wenfork Campsite takes no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred during your stay.

Do we need to bring bedding?

Yes, you will need to bring sheets, pillows and either duvets or sleeping bags.

Can we bring our pet?

I’m sorry but we do not allow pets inside the Bell Tents.

What do we need to bring with us?

We have tried to provide everything you might need to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. A full list will be provided of these items (see link). inventorybelltent.pdf. However there are a few things that you will need to bring from home. In addition we advise you bring suitable clothes and footwear for all conditions.

Little Wenfork Campsite - Facilities

A purpose built building provides a toilet, washhand basin, a free electric shower and dedicated dishwashing facility with hot and cold water.

A chemical disposal point, together with dedicated water supply is also provided.

Fresh water is provided via an external tap.

Also available on site are Fresh Eggs from our own Chickens & Ducks.

Campers are encouraged to recycle their waste into the separate paper, plastic/tins, and general waste bins provided.

A free ice pack freezing facility available.

Camp fires are allowed on site either using the dedicated fire hardstanding or one of the portable fire/BBQ drums and stands, free to use. Fire wood is available on site at an extra charge.

Please note: No Hook-ups are available on site.

Little Wenfork Campsite - Activities

The Campsite provides a peaceful location where the views of both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor can be admired. Based in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Tamar Valley, the Campsite is an excellent base to explore the various attractions such as, Cotehele Estate, Sailing, Fishing & Boat trips along the River Tamar. Visitors can walk along the country lanes and take in the surrounding countryside, directly from the campsite.

The Nationally acclaimed Duchy College specialising in agriculture and sports is only two miles away. The campsite is ideally situated for this venue.

A good bus service is available from Treburley (0.5 miles walk), to Callington and Plymouth in the south, Launceston and Bude to the north.

Callington is an ancient market town with a famous mural trail under the shadow of Kit Hill, a Country Park, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Launceston is the ancient capital and gateway to Cornwall, with its Castle (National Heritage). The town has a good selection of local shops, supported by easily accessible car parking.

Local Markets and businesses produce and use a wide range of local produce such as Yarg Cheese, Cornish Pasties, Beef and Sea food.

The local public house, 'The Springer Spaniel' is only 1/2 a miles walk away down a lovely single track Cornish lane. They serve very good food made from local produce together with a wide selection of real ales, wines and spirits.Be aware, pre-booking is advisable!!

Visit Cowslip to try your hand at arts & crafts with classes and workshops in Patchwork, Knitting and Quilting.

Please note those using Sat Nav's - you may get directed off the main A388 earlier than you need to - you will then go down some very narrow lanes. Please use the directions below.

From Launceston take the A388 Callington Rd for 5 miles. At Treburley opposite the Spinger Spaniel Public House take the first lane on the Left Hand side towards Rezare. Site on the Right Hand side after 0.5 miles, Caravan and Camping Club sign posted.

From Saltash A38, take the A388 to Callington - (10 miles), Travel through Callington towards Launceston until you get to Treburley (5 miles). Take the 2nd turning on the Right Hand side, opposite the Springer Spaniel Public House, towards Rezare. Site on the Right Hand side after 0.5 miles, Caravan and Camping Club sign posted.
