What was great?
On arrival was seen by the staff who were helpful and pointed us in the right direction. The site is between a wood and fields and is the perfect spot for walking and trekking. It is a adult only site with no kids under 18 allowed on site at any time. There is water, electric and sewerage at the rear of each van. Lots of great wildlife on site and the birds are plentiful.

Even better if....
The waste pipe for each van is at the rear which is the highest point on the plot so it is difficult to drain if the pipe is on the side of the van like ours. They have an static plug in aerial but it is the opposite to the normal so you have to pay £1 for a conector

What was great?
Friendly staff, great views, lots of space between vans, clean facilities. Well out of the way, make sure you are confident pulling your van up steep hills and small roads.

Like the whole site, really nice staff nothing was too much trouble, advised us of where to eat and drink. Helped site our caravan. Great views when walking to the pub, free range eggs for sale and they were lovely to.

this is a well laid out, well maintained ,quiet ,peaceful, adult only, dog friendly, family run site, staffed by friendly ,helpful people , with lovely views of the rolling peak district hill's. the site caters for tent's, touring caravans and motorhomes, you can also rent one of their lodges too as if that's not enough subject to availability seasonal pitches are available too Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth are all with-in easy reach from the site

unfortunately the site (as yet) is not sign posted from the main road and is easy to miss, if relying on a sat nav the post code is actually about half a mile past the site but if you provide your mobile number the site owners do txt you the directions

Friendly pub with a great real fire for those cold days. Plenty of ales to choose from including some micro breweries. This place has plenty of seating in a number of rooms for all ages. The food is basic pub grub but you get plenty of it and there is not a bad choice.

Decor is looking very tired

the CHESHIRE CHEESE in Longnor is a real gem of a pub serving a good range of beers etc, I can personally recommend the 'Unicorn', it also serves good ,reasonably priced, restaurant style pub grub and they aren't mean with the portions either, again the staff are always ready with a warm ,friendly greeting. throw in the fact that the management at the Cheshire Cheese also offer ( by arrangement) a FREE pick-up & drop off service for people staying at Longnor wood holiday park

the only thing that could make this pub any better would be if they gave the beer away

There are that many it's hard to choose. The best for me is Stannage Edge. This is a super walk with cliffs on one side of the valley then a dirt road on the other with fantastic views.
