What was great?
The further you get from the entrance to the site, the closer you get to the beach. Keep going and you end up in the furthest field - it's very far from flat, but you can see the sea and walk to the beach in 10 mins. No prior booking means you can just turn up and pitch.

Even better if....
Further from the entrance means further from the facilities - the toilet block is a long walk from the furthest field. But there are decent facilities on site: two playgrounds and a shop. Loads of families staying in static vans, campers and tents so your kids will find someone to play with. The queue for the fish n chip van is wearisome, though...

What was great?
Solo, family, friends or couples - whether tent, static, tourer or motor home. The perfect retreat for all!! Every facility you would need for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The site is very well kept with friendly staff, onsite shop for most basic needs and the most beautiful views. We took a blanket, bottle of wine and ourselves to sit and watch the sun go down over the sea, on a lovely balmy evening! Quite central to many popular harbours and site seeing spots we have now made this our target for every Devon holiday for the future. We arrived safely, having clear sited and wide enough roads, stayed and did not want to go home. We cannot recommend this site well enough.

Even better if....
Having a bad back the dog walking facilities were a bit far on the edge of the site. However, they did take in some beautiful walks and views so hubby had not complaints. Maybe a little area would have been handy for a 'quick wee 'n' poo' if I was on my own.
