We booked 6 tents together on the August bank holiday 2012. were told we would have to go into the meadow to guarantee 6 tents together ok we thought. Arrival was from 1pm one of our party arrived at 12.30 and was ignored for 10 minutes to begin with then shunned away and told to come back at 1 no one could pitch before then we arrived back at the same time as them and were pointed to the meadow. I say meadow loosely as was a small field with a large coppice of trees in the centre and 8 tents that were almost finished being put up so had been in before 1. no space to get 6 tents in together when we went back and asked at reception we were told that we couldn't have that it was a free for all in the meadow yet we had it on a confirmation letter 6 adjacent pitches ? we managed to squeeze into a small area next to a main road that was very very noisy at night and was initially littered with 2 old broken BBQ's beer cans and an open fire pit ( not allowed according to site info ) Our toilet block was a portacabin that looked fairly new but was shockingly dirty with mould and hair in the showers no loo roll filthy floor admittedly it was a very wet muddy weekend but were only cleaned once a day on a bank holiday weekend. went to the bar for a drink and to order some take away chips for the kids having to fight our way to the bar passed staff sitting drinking paying no attention to guests wasn't pleasant. site was waterlogged and we told we couldn't take our cars up the field to our tents had to park them at the gate and walk with young children the site made no attempt to do anything to help
