Welcome to Rowston Holiday Park

A short distance to Waterwynch Bay, a secluded sandy cove reached via our exclusive woodland walk, yet just a minute or two from the centre of New Hedges village with its shop, garage and pub. A quiet spot as the main road bypasses the village between Tenby and Saundersfoot, each within walking distance, alternatively you could take the bus that shuttles between the two stops right outside our front gate, great for not having to take the car as the Park and Ride that operates in Tenby is first class. For the active guests there are the alternatives of the cycle paths or the beautiful coast path which is accessible from the Park and is incorporated in the Pembrokeshire National Park Coastal Path.

Judged to be one of the top holiday parks in Wales, Rowston Holiday Park has built up an enviable reputation as a premier quality park, so you can be assured that we will provide first class accommodation and facilities. Rowston has been carefully developed with the aim of providing happy holidays in outstanding, well-maintained surroundings. The enviable children's play park is extremely popular and we have a well equipped laundry. Our showers and toilets are kept scrupulously clean. Tents & Tourers - Facilities at Rowston Holiday Park

At Rowston we boast two modern shower and toilet blocks which are cleaned thoroughly twice a day and checked regularly. Children must be accompanied by an adult when using these facilities.

The showers are operated by tokens which cost twenty pence each and last about five minutes. Any shower tokens left over at the end of your holiday can be refunded at the office. We charge for shower tokens to safeguard against the wastage of hot water therefore ensuring there is plenty for all of our guests. We have had problems in the past with the public from other parks gaining entrance to and using our shower facilities and so we have now fitted combination locks on the doors. You will be told these combinations on your arrival.

One toilet and shower block is near reception and open all season, there are separate men's and ladies toilet and shower facilities. Each block has two showers, soap in dispensers and paper hand drying rolls, the ladies has three toilet cubicles and electric sockets for hairdryers, straighteners etc, whilst the men's have two cubicles, a urinal and shaver points. There is also a chemical toilet disposal point.

The second block is located by the Tent Field. It consists of five unisex shower cubicles, along with separate facilities for ladies and men, each have two showers and four wash hand basins with hot and cold water, soap and hot air hand driers, the ladies has six toilet cubicles, the mens have toilet cubicles and urinals, they both have sockets. Also located here is our family bathroom with a bath, toilet and wash hand basin, tokens are available for the bath and cost 50 pence. We have a baby bathroom which consists of two Nappy changing units and two baby baths which take 20p tokens. We also have a disabled toilet with wash hand basin, the key to which is available at reception for a deposit of £10 which is refundable.

We have wash-up facilities at the same location consisting of five large sinks with hot water.

Convenient to the touring field we have two chemical disposal toilet disposal points, two cold water taps running straight to drains and two cold water taps running to sinks.

At Rowston we have two fully equipped Log Cabins available to let - Pinewood and Oak Lodge.

We no longer hire out static caravans.

Pinewood Log Cabin - Saundersfoot & Tenby

This beautiful Log Cabin is 42' x 12' and has three bedrooms, sleeping six people.

The cabin has had a recent refurbishment and is comfortably and cosily decorated in warm beiges and terracottas. There is a large lounge with a comfortable suite and window seat, sky television, and DVD player and is now fully central heated.

The lounge also incorporates a dining table and chairs, whilst at the other end is the fully equipped kitchen with fridge, cooker and microwave.

Pinewood has one double bedroom, one twin bedded room and one bunk room with ample storage space. There is a shower room with hip bath/shower, toilet and wash hand basin, plus a separate toilet and wash basin.

Outside there is extensive decking with patio furniture. The outlook is beautiful woodland, and wildlife galore.

Oak Lodge Log Cabin - Saundersfoot & Tenby

This lovely Log Cabin has two bedrooms and sleeps four. It is situated behind the reception office and has a decking with patio furniture overlooking rolling fields and farm land. It also has a small enclosed garden.

Oak Lodge has also recently undergone a complete refurbishment with a comfortable suite and furnishings in browns, cream and red, again there is a TV with a built in DVD player and a gas fire.

The lounge and kitchen are separated by a breakfast bar with stools for sitting down for meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge and microwave.

Park Facilities

The Play Park at Rowston Holiday Park

An excellent facility to keep the children occupied at Rowston, our play area is set near to the touring site with picnic benches nearby and has safety flooring all around the main play equipment, which consists of:

Jungle gym adventure climbing frame with three slides.
8 swings (4 of which are designed for smaller children)
1 see saw
4 animal rockers
2 spring boards
1 basketball net
There is also a large playing field with goal posts, so the children have plenty of space to run about in. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Launderette
There is a fully equipped launderette on site which has four washing machines, one spinner, four tumble dryers, an iron and ironing board.

The Beach Path at Rowston Holiday Park

Another reason why Rowston is a great choice for your family holiday is the access available to Waterwynch Bay, which is a secluded spot ideal for exploring in rock pools or just chilling out on the sandy beach.

The walk form the holiday park takes approximately 10-15 minutes according to age and energy, we do recommend you check the tide table before venturing to the beach.

If you are feeling more energetic you can take advantage of the great location and join the beautiful coast path to the local town of Tenby which takes approximately 20-25 minutes or you can wander in the opposite direction to the village of Saundersfoot which takes approximately 60 - 70 minutes.

The Area

Tenby

The walled town of Tenby, with its busy harbour, four golden sandy beaches, safe bathing and warren of streets filled with interesting shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants will no doubt be one of your first ports of call.

Take a boat trip from here to get the best view of the spectacular coastline and its seabird colonies, or to land on the monastic Island of Caldey, where the Cistercian brothers make perfume and delicious chocolate.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

As mentioned before, Rowston is set in the National park which boasts beautiful scenery with rugged cliffs and sandy coves, wildlife and historic interests.

Pembrokeshire has 186 mile coast path which leads you from Amroth in South Pembrokeshire to St Dogmaels in North Pembrokeshire. There are a number of places to visit along the coastal path including Barafundle beach which has been voted one of the top ten picnic spots in the UK.

There are also many castles along the way and the ancient chapel of St Govan which is set in the cliffs with breathtaking views. Towards the North the coast path takes you through the little city of St Davids which has a beautiful cathedral and a number of quaint gift shops and coffee taverns where you can sit and watch the world go by before venturing off to the next town or village.

Oakwood is the top theme park in West Wales and is very popular with roller coaster enthusiasts. It has a wide range of activities and rides for all ages, which you can enjoy in the day time or in the summer holidays you can visit Oakwood after dark and enjoy an evening of events which finish with a fireworks display.

Oakwood also have a sister company called CC2000, which is ideal for rainy days or evening activities. At CC2000 you will find a crystal maze, ten pin bowling, pool tables and games room.

Folly Farm gives you a chance to get a little closer to farming life and the kids love it. Folly Farm is aimed at younger children and has an old style fun fair with merry gorounds, a helter skelter and dodgems. There is also a go-kart track and they have regular feeding times for the farmyard animals which you may even get to pet. In addition to the farmyard animals they also have a zoo with more unusual animals to see and learn about!

Heatherton is aimed at older children and adults, however there is an indoor play area and bumper boats for the little ones. Heatherton offers outdoor activities such as Archery, Paintball, Go-Karts, Crazy golf, baseball, pistol shooting, paintball, 18 hole pitch and putt and under cover driving range.

Directions

Most of our guests arrive travelling westwards along the M4/A40 towards Pembrokeshire.

As you reach Carmarthen, take the second exit on the first roundabout and drive across the bridge and then take the first exit on the next roundabout.
Stay on the A40 for approx. 8 miles, until you reach St Clears. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A477, signposted Pembroke Dock, Tenby.
Stay on this road for approx. 13 miles until you reach the Begelly roundabout, where you take the first left onto the A478, signposted Tenby.
At Twy Cross Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the B4316 (signposted Saundersfoot)
Approx 200 yards down the road turn right, and drive through the village of 'New Hedges'. Watch out for the signs to Rowston Holiday Park on your left.

Even better if....
Hookup at 6 Amp is something out of 1980ies. Where is the watertap to fill up Motorhomes with fixed tanks? Having to ask sombody with a tap if you possible could.... isn't very good. When the hotwater broke down it would had been nice if somebody put up a sign saying sorry for the inconvenience and please use other facilities if there were any.
