Welcome to The Hideaway Tipi Holidays

Make new friends around the campfire, laze around with a book, roam over ancient fields where settlements dating back to 2BC have been found, listen to the birds, hike to the stunning and unspoilt coves…or simply just watch the sun set into the sea.

Here we offer you the opportunity to get back to nature while still in comfort, meaning we suit anyone from seasoned campers to folk trying an outdoorsy holiday for the very first time.

MyHideaway is part of the MyTipi and MyBellTent clan...we are a small family business who started as expert tipi makers and now also offer a new concept meaning you tell us what you would like out of your holiday, we give you a list of handpicked sites which meet your criteria (or you can tell us where you would like to stay if you already know of somewhere) and once you have found where you would like to stay tell us and we will book you in, handle the pitch fee's and your bell tent or tipi will be there on the day you arrive ready for you, when you go home after your holiday we come and take it all down. So you get a luxury experience and holiday tailored to you without breaking the bank! Brilliant!

We cover the whole of West Cornwall so you can explore areas of outstanding natural beauty, unspoilt coves, sites of significant historical and wildlife interest. Perfect for couples, artists, photographers, walkers, families, surfers and dreamers alike, there is something for everyone.

MyHideaway is whatever you want it to be, luxuriously equipped without loosing the feel of what traditional camping is all about. Hampers filled with crockery, utensils and cooking equipment, cool boxes with ice packs, gas stoves with grills, plump futon mattresses, rugs, lanterns, low tables, throws, board games, warm blankets are all lovingly prepared awaiting your arrival...and at the end you just pack up and leave...we do the rest.

From wildlife to wild nights, sea views to swimming pools, national parks to play parks, here everyone can find something to suit their needs and enjoy all the luxury of a tipi or bell tent holiday... MyHideaway literally allows you to create your very own hideaway holiday...

Watch tea lights twinkle on the grass, paraffin lamps give a warm glow in your tipi and the fire flicker into the night...

As traditional tipi makers we have made our own tipi's for many years which have been sold and rented to festivals and private buyers. MyHideaway tipis are made of durable water, rot and fireproof fabric, they are made of all natural white cotton canvas which helps keep them cool when the sun is out and warm of an evening.

TIPIS

We are able to supply traditional 16ft diameter Sioux Tipis which comfortably sleep four people or a young family.

Each tipi includes a comfortable double futon mattress and either double or single airbeds, low tables, large floor cushions and throw cushions, LED wind up lantern, board games, pencils and crayons, throws, sheepskin rugs, large sari rugs, cool box with freezer packs, hamper with cooking utensils, crockery, pans and mugs, gas cooker with grill (gas included) and rugs, floor coverings and matting.

Each tipi is fitted with a raincatcher to ensure you keep dry should it rain and when the weather looks good we can remove these so you can look up through the open smoke flaps and watch the clouds pass over during lazy days and see the stars twinkle as you doze off to sleep.

Although you want some luxury while in your tent we do promote getting back to nature when camping and sitting on the floor outisde either on the grass or one of our picnic blankets is lovely, most campsites we reccomend have picnic benches on each pitch but we can supply tables, benches and chairs too if you would like.

BELL TENTS

Furnished bell tents are decorated with beautiful fabric bunting and includes thick luxury double or single airbeds with pumps (futon mattress sometimes available), low table, tea lights and tea light holders, board games, pencils, crayons and colouring books (for small or big kids!) throws, sari rugs, fluffy sheepskin rugs, cushions to lounge on, warm blankets, LED wind up lantern, cool box with freezer packs (ready frozen for you), hamper with cooking utensils, chopping board, knifes, tin opener and cork screw, cutlery, crockery, pans, whistling kettle, cups and mugs, washing up kit with tea towel and washing up liquid, bin bags, gas cooker with grill (gas included) set upon a table.

The added advantage of our bell tents is that the walls can be unzipped from the groundsheet enabling them to be rolled up to let the cool summer breeze in to create a lovely daytime canopy, perfect for summer lazyness!

This year we are pleased to offer our budget bell tent package which is a 3m bell tent and perfect for a couple to stay in for a few nights, if you are on a real shoestring why not take our unfurnished option! For those couples or families who like a little more leg room we have our lovely 4m bell tents and for folk with hoards of children or who just like to invide everyone back for the party why not look at out gigantic 5m and out palacial 6m bell tents! The 5m and 6m can even be attached together to sleep even more people over!

If there are a group of you wanting to all dine together on your holidays we have available for hire an original army mess tent! Perfect for large groups to sit somewhere covered when not in their tipi - - Would fit tables and seating for at least 15 people!

Please remember that staying in a tipi although luxuriously furnished is still camping. Beautiful Cornwall can still get rain and tipis, although warm and waterproof can drip in very extreme weather (although everything is provided to stop this making your stay enjoyable and comfortable) if you are in and doubt or feel dubious at all we suggest bell tents are 'your bag!'

Warm weather during the day doesn't always mean a warm night...If you think you may be cold please bring extra blankets, jumpers or bedding. If we could we would book the sunshine especially for you...

SOUTHWEST IS BEST!

Our fingers would literally fall off if we sat and told you about all of the brilliant things that the South West has to offer you...walking, beaches, museums, mines, landscaped gardens, historic houses, guided walks, boat trips, comedy nights, sea life centres, galleries, water sports, moors, surfing, shopping...need we go on?...
There are endless miles of walks you can take atound the coast of the South West...so no need to even move your car! You can take slow ambles on level ground and admire the scenery changes through the day or for the more adventurous you can head off in the wild and explore the coastal footpaths where you can find some of the most stunning private coves and may even be lucky enough to see some of the sea life too!

Cornwall is home to many medieval field systems that have largely been unaltered since they were first crofted. Parts of West Cornwall in-particular has been noted as being 'a unique, continuiously farmed landscape' with many working croft still today

(A few of our favourite places are...)

Portheras Cove

Park in the farmers field for £2.00 for the whole day. When you arrive you will find an unspoilt, sandy beach, blue waters and rock pools which are sure to satisfy the most inquisitive young minds and the more relaxed book readers alike!

St Just

The market town of St Just is always worth a look, you can find some amazing little cafes (The Cook Book we highly recommend!) Originally the centre of the tin mining industry in Cornwall the nature of the towns past can be seen in the granite cottages which line the streets. Close by is Cape Cornwall the most westerly point in Cornwall. The stunning hump-backed cape boasts 138 year old mine chimney stack. Rising 229ft above sea level you can see for miles over the Western approaches.

St Ives

Arty and quaint St Ives has been loved for generations and only a 10 minute drive away, you will find to crystal blue waters, golden sands and a warm welcome...let alone the mild sub-tropical climate, warmed year round by the Gulf Stream! It is said that the air quality is what makes artists flock here to paint and draw...the cleanness of it is so great that colours are more vivid than other areas of the UK, we would always say St Ives is well worth a look, and if the waves are up, it's well worth a surf too!

Sennen Cove

A quiet little village which has beautiful sights all around. The beach is one of the nicest in the UK, lovely, clean sand and water so clear you can see the fishes swimming beneath your feet, here you can surf, take a look through the surf shop, relax on the beach or have a lovely bite to eat at The Beach which has a fab terrace overlooking the sea...(another great place for an evening barbeque and to watch the sun set!) From Sennen you can head to Lands End easily as it's only a mile up the road, here you can take in a firework display one night a week and find out about the history of the area at the large tourist information centre.

Minack Theatre, Treen and Porthcurno Beach

The Minack is a one of a kind theatre (one of our favourite places ever too!) Whether you want to watch one of their very well priced and fantastic plays or just take a walk around the amazing cliff side theatre itself, you are sure to remember a visit here for many years to come. Theatre goers are welcome to bring along picnics and drinks to eat before and during the shows and you can also take a walk around the headland to the beautiful Porthcurno Beach... our description of which will never do it justice, lets just say you will feel as if you've been transported to a tropical paradise...if you thought the sea couldn't get much clearer and a more vivid blue than at Sennen and Portheras Cove, this is a sight you would be mad to not witness! Warm water and clean beaches await where you may be able to watch a friendly and elegant basking shark or two far out at sea with their babies...

In our sessions we have adventures, learn how the earth works, how to use tools, make fires, build dens, explore rockpools and the underwater world, make up other worlds, learn about ourselves, each other and have FUN. We are passionate and professional about PLAY!
We can come to woods or beaches near you or book now on planned sessions via the 'bookings' page on our website.

We can also deliver in woods or on beaches the best party you can imagine with ideas and skills to match every aspiration and pocket. You could arrive by yacht to a secret isolated location. We can provide the outdoor catering over an open fire if you wish. You might want to learn new skills or practise old ones such as using tools, making fires and shelters, snorkelling. Also questing, fancy dress and of course we can do lots of games to suit.
