Welcome to Wellington Country Park

Wellington Country Park is situated in 350 acres of beautiful parklands and is located just off the A33 between Reading and Basingstoke, on the Hampshire/Berkshire border.

It offers a safe, open air, fun filled venue for all the family, with facilities and attractions especially suited for children up to the age of 10.

To enjoy, we have several adventure play areas, a toddler’s area, indoor soft play (2 & under only), sand pits, slides, miniature railway (£1.50 extra), animal farm and petting barn (seasonal), nature trail maze, enchanted forest, water play, new 12 hole mini golf, welly wheels ‘ automated jeeps (seasonal - £3 per car) and loads more play equipment to climb on and in; all will ensure a fun filled day.

Within woodlands, there are four nature trails to follow, taking in sights of our vast array of wildlife in their natural habitat. One trail allows you to get up close and personal to our resident herds of Red and Fallow deer.

Bicycles are NOT allowed in the Park unless they are fitted with stabilisers. Roller blades are also not permitted but children can bring their ‘Scooters’.

Surrounding our beautiful 35 acre lake is the perfect location for a family gathering, picnic or BBQ. (Sorry but please note, there is no boating, fishing or swimming in the lake).
Our beautiful campsite is situated amongst mature woodlands within the Country Park itself and offers a unique camping experience... being both the perfect destination for family holidays or a quiet break away!!

Why... because not only are we a campsite but included in your stay is unlimited access to our exciting 350 acre Country Park.

A stay with us during high season will offer a jam packed family fun holiday, with FREE unlimited access to the Country Park where kids can let off steam, climb on, in and through an assortment of play equipment, adventure play areas, slides, dig in sand pits, play mini golf and ride our miniature railway, visit the Animal Farm (seasonal) and so much more!

A stay with us during medium to peak season, will offer a peaceful and tranquil stay where you can enjoy stunning wildlife, nature walks and you can sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings as well as all the above attractions.

Camping Information

Our campsite can accommodate touring caravans, campervans, motor homes, trailer tents and tents.

General Pitch Information

Our Campsite is situated in a forest and the pitches are constructed around the natural lay of the woodlands.

As a consequence, the make-up of the ground which you will pitch up on is that of a typical forest floor. This means your pitch could be slightly gravelly, a silty surface, tree roots pine cones lying around or slightly uneven.

Being within a forest, grass is usually unable to grow so for those booking tent pitches, we do recommend that you bring toughened metal tent pegs and an extra ground sheet for added protection and comfort.

Premium Pitches
These are electric pitches which provide you with slightly more privacy than normal electric pitches and are ideal for caravans, motor homes and trailer tents. Some are suitable for tents; please ask at time of booking.

Non-Electric Pitches
These pitches are for tents only .

Pitches are only suitable for touring caravans and motor homes up to a maximum length of 26ft and tents up to an 8 berth.

Campsite Facilities
The washing facilites are found in the middle of the Campsite and comprise of toilets, free showers, hot and cold water, electric shaving points and hair driers (coin operated). There is a laundry situated next to the facilities with a washing machine, tumble drier (tokens are available from either the Campsite Warden or Reception) and an iron (coin operated)

Also available in the laundry is a freezer, for campers to store ice blocks, a public telephone and normal 13amp plug sockets (coin operated) to recharge phones, laptops etc or for using hair straightners

Washing Up Area
This is a covered, lit area found behind the laundry room, with a hot and cold water supply for washing of utensils etc.

Electric
Each hook up point is clearly numbered on each pitch and delivers a maximum of 1.5KW (6 amps) per pitch. Please ensure that you do not exceed this, as it will cause the circuit to trip. Generators are not permitted.

Grey Water Waste Point
A drive over facility for Motorhomes ‘GREY WATER WASTE’ only.

‘Wi-Fi’
Not all pitches can receive a signal, due to the Campsite being located in a forest. On arrival at your pitch, please check whether you can receive a Wi-Fi login signal. Vouchers are available from the Campsite Warden or at the Main Reception Building. Wi-Fi cost of £3 for 24hrs.

‘TV Signal’
Due to our location, the TV signal is very poor.

Gas (Calor)
Butane and propane gas bottles as well as some gas regulators are available from Reception, we do not stock camping gas. Reading Caravans camping shop is nearby and carries a much larger selection of camping equipment and supplies, should you need them.

Refuse
Refuse sites are found by pitch 25 and opposite the Campsite Warden's caravan. Please remember to recycle where possible. There are separate bins available for general rubbish, mixed recycling and glass. There are also areas for disposing of used barbeque coals at these points.

Elsan Points
These are situated near the refuse points. Please ensure you ONLY put toilet waste down them as nappies, wipes and sanitary towels will block this facility. For these items, please use the sanitary and nappy bins provided in the main toilet block.

Please note the following useful tips:
For 'Tents/Trailer Tents', we recommend that you bring both an extra ground sheet to offer better protection and toughened metal tent pegs
A torch, as neither the campsite or country park is lit at night.
Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions, including storage for any wet items (Please note, refunds will not be given due to poor weather)
Due to our location, you WILL encounter typical woodland insects; Please come prepared!!

Touring Base... More Than Just a Campsite
Wellington Country Park's Campsite is not only an ideal location for a destination holiday, but also an ideal touring base for Hampshire, Berkshire and the South, with easy access for the M3 and M4 motorways. For guests travelling to or from Europe, we are a convenient distance from the Channel ports.

The historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Windsor Castle, and the University town of Oxford are all within an hour’s drive. Much nearer, are the superb shopping facilities of Reading's Oracle Centre and Basingstoke's Festival Place.

Other attractions close by include Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington to entertain the kids and for the grown-ups, Ascot and Kempton Race Courses; all of which provide a host of entertainment.

Rallies

We are very pleased to welcome Camping and Caravanning Rallies to Wellington Country Park with a number of areas which are very suitable for such events and can cater for a varying number of units.

In addition, all rally attendees gain 'FREE' unlimited access to the Country Park and use of all the Country Park facilities normally available to the general public, even when the Park is closed.

Areas Available
Waterloo Meadow:- This can accommodate up to 250 units. It is a very large area, where our herd of Red Deer roam around freely and will wander up to and around, your caravan.

Antler Pen:- This can accommodate up to 20 units. It is a smaller, more private venue adjacent to the Waterloo Meadow.

Both of these areas are accessed from the main road to our Campsite.

There are refuse facilities, Elsan points and mains water (via stand pipes) available.

We recommend that you Book well in advance as all the areas are very popular.

From M4 take junction 11 and follow A33 south towards Basingstoke
From M3 take junction 5 and follow B3349 north towards Reading
At the Wellington Country Park roundabout take the exit for the main entrance.
Sat Nav Directions
Please note, when entering the post code into your sat nav, the directions given will not take you to the entrance of the Country Park or Campsite. The postcode wil take you to the central point of that postcode, which is NOT the Park entrance.

Please enter either Odiham Road, Riseley or B3349 and this will bring you to the main Wellington roundabout, from which you will be able to access the entrance to the Country Park and Campsite.
Public Transport
To visit the Park by bus, please take the Fleet Buzz No. 72.
From Reading at Reading (Main) Train Station or coming from Fleet, Fleet Train Station.

Out and Return Route: Reading, Swallowfield, Riseley (Wellington Country Park), Hartley Wintney, Fleet Church Crookham and Aldershot.

Great Park

What was great?
The space and freedom for the children there. In the evening after the park closed for the day all the play arrears were available to the campers )young and old). Even though the park could get busy always plenty of quiet areas. Children's farm was brilliant. All staff very friendly and helpful.
