Woke up ready for the off to the last site before the boarding the train, turned the key and nothing. the battery voltage was starting to go up but thats because the solar panels kicked in, a bit cloudy so not good. So we called breakdown service to get a jump start and off we go. when we get home i put the battery on charge but that didn't work. Now you may think this stupid but where exactly is the battery? Certainly not under the bonnet, there's only one other place i can think of thats under the passenger floor. Yep it's there and i was amazed to find that it wasn't a sealed battery. after a lot of faffing managed to remove all the plugs to check the fluid levels. Yes i needed distilled water so i collects it from Halfords. there are six cells and between them i used almost half a gallon of water. my first thought this battery must be dead as it was so dry but after a charge it fired up the engine OK. Took it off charge and left it for a week tried it and it fired up OK, yes we have solar panels but this is november with very little sun and there's an alarm on 24/7 so it's using power all the time so hopefully it's still OK. I'll start it tomorrow andsee. Thats just a reminder to all who have 3litre Boxer the battery is under the floor.
