Hi there

I needed to do same thing and used advice from the leisureshopdirect website which explained exactly what to do with dometic and thetford fridges. Look in their technical section.

Hope that helps!

I can't really understand why you are removing the fridge for servicing. Most fridge engineers can service the fridge in situ as all the parts tend to be accessible through the vents on the outside of the caravan. If a part needs replacing and the fridge needs removing the engineer can usually get them out far quicker, and more efficiently than you.
The problem with you removing the fridge is that while the engineer will service it perfectly on a work bench it is still down to you to replace it and to ensure that all the gas connections are gas tight and that the flue is connected properly to ensure safe working.
I think is the most likely cause of potential hazards and probably best left to the (insured) expert.

The outside covers do not allways give access to the burner unit which should be removed when the flue is cleaned. It is not allways possable to get to the screws that hold the shield around the burner. If the fridge is moved it should allways have a leak test done Posted by Keith Mahoney on 20 Apr 2013
