It's got to be clean, updated and a great atmosphere. The staff need to be friendly and so do the other visitors.

I agree, Darren. The difficulty is that you can't always control the other campers. Not had that many bad experiences, though. Far more friendly campers out there than grumpy ones! :) Posted by Alicia Merrett on 16 Apr 2014

for us any list of vital features would be a combination of the following
1/ a good, dog friendly pub near site,
2/ good, modern ,clean facilities ,i.ie. toilet /shower block etc
3/ ease of access
4/ peacefulness
5/ local amenities ,shops etc
6/ electric hook up
7/ local attractions

For me its all about cleanliness and general upkeep of the grounds. A clean and tidy facilities block can make or break a good experience.
As for entertainment etc, I guess you cant be all things to all people but as long as you know what you're getting I think people should undertake to find a suitable site.

For me, it needs to be a level pitch. I REALLY dislike sliding to the bottom of the tent in my sleeping bag 50 times a night!
