Hello, a newbie here both to Campsite Chatter and to camping, really. I have a family sized tent that I have inherited from a friend. We used it a fair bit in the glorious days of last summer...bu this included a right royal soaking on Bank Holiday weekend when Croyd was nearly washed away by a deluge - it was coming up through the floor!

Obviously I dried the tent our at the time but is there something I should be doing this time of year as well?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Just make sure it is really dry when you put it away. You can re-proof them but I had a similar tent for 3-4 years and never did and it didn't leak.

Give it a light clean to remove any mud or stains that can affect the fabric,
Pack it by folding it don't try and cram it into the bag. Making sure its dry of course.

I find pitching it up and letting it dry is the best way but obviously with weather and space issues this might not be prudent.

if you have leaks use Fabsil or some similar product to reproof it next year. I used a fence sprayer and a 5ltr tub on a folding trailer tent and i was done in about half an hour.
