Afternoon,

My partner and I are big walkers and, after 14 years of walking the Pembrokeshire Costal path, we have begun to recognise individual stones along the way - time for a change?!

Can anyone suggest another stretch of coastal path which is as good for camping and as Pembrokeshire?

Cheers,

Claire.

We've just got back from Anglesey. There's a coastal walk round the island. http://www.visitanglesey.co.uk/en/things-to-do/activities/isle-of-anglesey-coastal-path/
We stayed at darfan rhos campsite near Moelfre. Would recommend.

I suppose it depends how far you want to travel, I know it's a long way from Pem/shire but I can recommend North Cornwall round the Tintagel area, some good sites to be found ,again I can recommend the cc site, Trewethett farm a friendly ,well, maintained site with coastal walks to boot.

then there's also the east coast of Yorkshire ,there you've got , Robin hoods bay, Whitby , Filey , Scarborough , Bridlington etc all of which have coastal walks of some description or another, for coastal walks though ,personally I would opt for Robin hoods bay, here again I can recommend Middlewood farm holiday park, as well as coastal walks the North York moors and places like Goathland ( Heartbeat country) are also with-in easy reach.

hope this all helps

Hi Claire,

Check out Northumberland, we have miles of sandy coastline. If you start at Cresswell in the south up to Bamburgh and Seahouses you pass castles, vilages, great pubs etc.

The east coast of Yorkshire from Scarborough up to Whitby is fantastic but an even better one is fron Eyemouth North along past St Abbs , stunning

Thanks, Darren. Sorry I haven't replied for a while! I have been looking at this stretch of coast, as you suggest. Looks amazing. Posted by Claire Fielder on 03 Apr 2014

Another recommendation for the coastal walk Filey, Scarborough and Whitby - Crows Nest Caravan Park is on the route and has spectacular views from it's camping area.

Angelsey has a unique coastal path that encompasses the whole island with numerous shorter circular walks off the main path.

It'a a long long long way from anyway (but thats one of the best bits!) but well worth the journey to the Lizard Peninsula is you've got a week or so. The South West coastal path runs all along. If you've got dogs, it's great because so many of the beaches are wild and therefore more dog friendly. Beautiful place,.
