We bought a caravan last year so we haven't been camping in a year but we used to go to Doone Valley Campsite on Oaremead Farm on Exmoor. Really lovely site... quite basic with just toilets and showers, but brilliant to get away. There is a lovely little stream around the site that is great for kids to play in. And they allow camp fires (actually sell you logs!!) which creates a lovley atmosphere in the evening. We always baked potatoes in the fire and roasted marshmellows. very importantly there are a few great pubs with tons of character that serve ales and fantastic food. Great memories!
