Hi all we have just bought a new Cobb BBQ for the camping season ahead and I am wondering whether to buy brickettes (seem a lot cheaper) or the Cobb cobblestones? Are the cobblestones alot better?
Thanks

On a detour answer, have you seen they are now doing a XL cobb with a wider surface area?

I dont own one but general consensus is usually get the cobblestones if you are planning on eating on the same day ;)

We did look at those as well but thought they were a bit big for us as we only just fit everything in anyway! Thanks for advice... others have said exactly same thing about the brickettes being a bit useless!! Posted by George Tucker on 19 Mar 2013

Although cobblestones seem to be dearer they last quite a long time and give off a good heat. The other advantage is they burn down to almost nothing, making it easier to clean. The downside they can be a right swine to light, to overcome this I have bought a cooks blow torch, that gets it going

Took your advice with the blow torch! Works a treat thanks! Maybe we'll have the weather to eat outside a lot this summer??!!! Posted by George Tucker on 01 May 2013
