Hi all
I am just wondering how often everybody replaces the water filter?

I changed it earlier than I normally would, in early February because I thought we would go away a lot this year, but with the weather and a few other things happening we haven't managed a trip so its just been sitting around. Should I change again or will it be ok? Thanks

You don't say what sort of filter it is.
The screw in type, I took apart, threw away the inside (bag of carbon) and re-assembled it empty.
The one I have now drops into the waterhog. I did the same with that. Dismantled it, removed the bag of carbon, placed a strip of lead inside (to make it drop to the bottom of the container) and superglued it back together.
Never had water filters in "the old days" and at £11.00 a throw, I don't need one now.

Forgot to add, I do put sterilizing fluid (milton or boots sterilizer tablets) in the water hog and run it through the system at the first outing of the year. Posted by Chris Orme on 10 Jun 2013

Hi Mark, when we got our 1st caravan the filter in it was in a horrible state, took it out and threw it away, replaced it with a new one, had that 'van for 3 yrs, ,didn't change the filter in all that time, how ever I did sterilise the system every year.

have done the same with our latest 'van, I know that quite a few folk don't use a filter at all but personally I prefer to have one in, more of a security blanket than anything else though
