Question: Caravan Club Site Search

Is it me or is the Caravan Club site finder a pain to use? I'm planning a tour of Scotland and find the Caravan Club site finder not as easy to use as the C&CC. In fact uk.campsites.com or pitchup.com seem easier than both. Or could it be the Caravan Club doesn't cover much in Scotland?

Regards

It is not the most user friendly system, but what is your major problem with it? I have found it easier with a lot of use but still find it frustrating at times.

Which part (s) of Scotland are you planning on visiiting?

Hi Phil, Glad it's not only me who didn't find it user friendly. As you said, you get used to it. I've figured it out now and I've managed to book 3 campsites in Scotland for my trip, sad to say only one caravan club , which is in Berwick Upon Tweed . The other two are caravan & camping club sites (it was worth joining both for the discount). I've planned as for as Glencoe and now I'm looking for a nice site between Pitlochry & Perth, plus one in Northumberland for the trip home.

There are 2 sites at Pitlochry, Faskally just to the north which used to be excellent but has moved more towards Statics and we no longer use and Milton Of Fonab which is on the southern edge of the town itself and gets good ratings.
Further south there is Inver Mill Farm at Dunkeld which is a smashing wee site with a nice easy walk into Dunkeld itself.
Arriving at Perth (the jewel in the Scottish Crown, guess where I live!!) there is Noahs Ark, not the greatest looking but good facilities.

Ran out of characters, but I have found the site search facility on this site very useful and will only get better with more reviews. Posted by Phil Heller on 19 May 2013

Hi Phil, thought I'd take up your recommendation and we are going to book in at Inver Mill Farm at Dunkeld for the return trip.
Thanks for the tip. The site looks great.

I agree with you all. CC is so frustrating that I now no longer look on it for sites to visit. This site however is great for looking for sites and the more people say about them the better it will get. Well done

I agree with Phil... The search facility on this site is great. Its easy to use and I love the search by venue where you can choose a place you want to visit and then look up all the campsites nearby. Also there is fantastic information on places to go/ eat/ etc around the campsite and it gives you maps to get to the place from the campsite you are staying at....really useful. Overall I am very impresses with it. Just needs more reviews like you guys have already said and it would be hard to beat!

I've now tried the site search on Campsite Chatter as per your suggestion and it is really good. I have now found 2 sites for my trip.
Thanks for putting me on to it.
