Does anybody know how to remove the rear light cluster on a Swift 480 caravan. My Dad has had a lot of trouble with this on his van. He has tried to take out the screws but he says they feel like they are on a spring and wont come out. Any ideas to help him out?

i'd like to help as I too have a swift ,albeit a different model, recently changed my road bulbs, the rear clusters on mine were simply held on by 4 'normal' screws, removed those and the cluster just popped right off.

one thought did spring ( no pun intended) to mind , is there a rubber seal round the edge of the cluster which could be giving the impression of a sprung screw ? I've been playing with cars etc for years now can't recall a time when I've ever come across a sprung screw in a light cluster

Not sure but screws on light clusters often have a collar on them so when you undo them they don't actually drop out. Try unscrewing them till they're loose and then pull the cluster away from the van.....it should come off Posted by Andy Pye on 29 Jun 2013
Hi Peter Thank you for your comment, but dad thinks there is definitely something connecting them when they are unscrewed so it could well be a rubber collar like Andy has suggested. Either way thank you for your time. Posted by Claire Kennedy on 01 Jul 2013
