Question: Which Caravan....?

As I mentioned in a previous question I am thinking about leaving a touring caravan on a caravan site for 12 months of the year. This then doesn't really restrict me on size.

Just wandered if anyone has any recommendations on a very large touring caravan (semi-static) that I could purchase. I am probably looking to spend around £15K (ish)...

Thanks

Hi Robert, we were looking in Devon or Cornwall and just looked at monkey tree and read your review. It does look great. I will give them a call and will definitely add it to my short list.
Thanks for the recommendation....

Hi Jenny

Just my opinion, if it were me I would plump for a foreign 'van. They tend to be more solidly built & better with regards to damp, something you would probably wish to consider if leaving it on site for long periods. We have an English spec Burster, although they only produce European spec caravans now. Others I would consider are Hobby & LMC.

Some sites object to the larger twin axled foreign 'vans due to the traveller/gypsy link so if you did consider a foreign 'van, it may be worth enquiring at any sites you were also considering before taking the plunge.

You mention that you were wanting to put your purchase on the site all year round. Check with any prospective sites as some insist you vacate for a short period every year, planning permission or something I can't remember why just now

Hi Ian,
I haven't yet bought a caravan. Going to go to the NEC Caravan show in a few weeks and will definitely try and look at the ones you have recommended. I have been told that foreign ones are better by other people but isn't the door on the wrong side on most of them?
Thanks
