Hi

We have a Porta Loo in our motorhome and when I flush theres lots of small Black particles, whats the best way to flush it all our so it runs clear, I suspect its from when the van has been stood and the flush tank has dried out, and now its flaking off inside, what product is best to use to clear it out please,

TIA

Dave, did changing your cleaning fluid stop the black bits? Was it algae or did the seals need replacing? We have something similar.

Guys
My Theftford black bits in the flush water got steadily worse until the flush stopped flushing. I concluded that the bits were the disintegration of the rubber bits of the pump. I replaced the pump, simple task, and the bits disappeared having cleaned the tank whilst the pump was out.

The worst culprit responsible for the black bits is adding pink solution to the flush tank. It is a form of algae and not the seals disintegrating. Posted by Paul Shaw on 01 Mar 2014
