Take your carpets out, last year we spent a few nights out over new year, and our lovely dog took great delight in transferring mud into the caravan. It didn't seem worthwhile putting the awning up for 2 nights, though this would have alleviated the problem.
We also had power cut, so ensure your battery is fully charged.
Oh yes and finally, take enough food just in case you have to self cater. The kitchen at pub where we planned to eat, had to close because of the power cut.
