You could also do a little research into the model of caravan your interested in before you buy, so that you know where to look for the vin (vehicle identification)plate, as this is usually the first thing a caravan theif will try to remove or alter.
You could also check things like the doof of window frames for signs of forced entry, you could alsk chdck the tow hitch itself for signs of damage where a hitch lock msy have been forcibly removed.
Even something as simple as asking questilns only a bonefide owner would know I.e. where and when was the caravan last serviced , if so is there any paper work to say what work was or wasn't done.
