I need to get a new Sat Nav, as my TomTom Go Live 1000 has refused to talk to me any more. I'm thinking that one of the new specialised caravan devices might be worth the £300 investment - but should it be TomTom, Garmin, Snooper, or one I haven't yet thought of?! There's a bewildering array of reviews out there, all get a range from one star to five stars. I would welcome advice!

I bought a Pronav last year through an offer on the caravan club. I would definitely not recommend it. Has area's which are not mapped, take ages to kick into gear, which means your half way to wherever your going before it starts navigating and It's not easy to program, basically it's a pain in the neck. On the positive its a nice colour.... black??

Many thanks, Ray. At least that's one I can cross of the never ending list! I have seen other reports regarding sat navs recommended by caravan and camping clubs which have disappointed people. I'm avoiding them.
I'm leaning towards the Garmin Camper 760 LMT-D which has a 7" screen and is phenomenally expensive - over £300! Anything to avoid having to reverse the van for half-a-mile down a little leafy lane!

Hi Brian, the Garmin is probably a good choice. I've just completed a 2500 mile drive around the Rockies in the USA with a Garmin. We had no problems at all.

Ray
