Does it matter what type of chemical fluid I use in my toilet? There seems to be a few different ones and not sure whats best.

Totally a personal choice. We have used many different ones over the years and the only problem we have had has been some of them have a scent not to our taste.

I totally agree. Some of them pong of synthetic flowers which is truly awful.
Some Dutch people we met last year use cheap laundry detergent. We haven't tried this.

That's why I was asking really as really don't like the one we have tried as it smells horrible. May try the laundry detergent though! Thanks Posted by Ben White on 12 Mar 2013

I prefer the Bio type that you can use anywhere, some sites with septic tanks don't let you use the chemical ones as they upset the balance of their systems.

We use "One-Chem" - it can be used in both the toilet cassette and the flush tank - and we like its smell!!! A tip I was given last year wasto buy a cheap round wc block (the type you drop into your home wc cistern) cut it into sections, wrap in foil to store, then unwrap one and drop into the flush tank as required. A cheap alternative.

One of the cheapest and best is Lidl Biological washing tablets. Just crumble half of one into your toilet tank, and if you want to have a sweet smelling waste tank in your Motorhome or your waste container, drain the tank and crumble a tablet with a little water before you head home and you will find the sloshing about in the journey leaves it lovely and clean when drained out on return.
