Question: Storing cans in overhead compartments

Our pre-loved van has a few dents in the kitchen work surface. When we asked a repair workshop about them, the guy there said that they were most likely caused by tin cans of food having been stored in the overhead lockers... knocked over in transit and then released to fall and sent the surface once the van is stationary... I promptly emptied the baked beans out of the top cupboards and stored them in the lower lockers!

Any more completely-obvious-when-you're-told-them tips like this for newbie campervanners?

you...MAYBE able to remove the dents if they are light dents....put some thick brown paper over the dent...dampen the paper....then iron it gently....keep checking to see if it has risen back to normal....and yes...tins falling out of cupboards are the main causes...fix a piece of string across the cupboard....so the tins cannot just fall out.
