Hi,

Recently purchased a new towing car (VW Tiguan) and am going to fit a reversing camera to my caravan. Anybody had any experience and any suggestions?

Thanks!

I fitted one to my old Mondeo but decided to use a small wireless transmitter and receiver to bridge the gap between the front of the caravan and the boot of the car. Because of the short distance between them I get the clarity of a wired system but no additional wires from the car to the caravan. You can feed the camera and transmitter form the reversing light feed to the caravan or if like me you want it on all the time like a rear view mirror then I used the 12v feed to the fridge which comes form the car and is only used during towing.

Most of RV manufacturers offer preinstalled backup camera maybe with some additional cost of $150. However, if you are looking to install a new one, then you can see the reviews of the best backup cameras here https://www.crowsurvival.com/the-10-best-rv-backup-cameras/.
