on our way to france for the first time in our campervan we broke our journey up by stopping off at tewkesbury for the night it cost £25 which I didn't give much thought to at the time. But after touring France for a couple of months mainly about the pyrenees I soon realized how much we are ripped off over here on site fees, none of the sites we stayed at were above 16 euros approx £12 and some were 12-14 euros with a couple having heated swimming pools and all had the amenities toilets, showers, hookup etc,Back here it works out pretty expensive to have a touring holiday as I have noticed there are sites costing a lot more than £25 pn in High Season with extras added on,think I'm going to start wild camping

Most claim they cannot make it pay if they dropped their prices to those found in france. I wonder if that is because they feel everyone wants state of the art facilities. For me a nice clean site with access to a service point is all i require
