As per the previous response it depends on the model of water heater you have. The elements on the Truma Ultrastore heater are quite easy to replace but as per the previous answer have a look for a reset button first (often tucked away and not immediately obvious sometimes). This is by far the easiest (and cheapest) option.

Hi, You don't say what water heater you have, but most have a thremal cut off in case the element isn't covered with water. If it's a Carver of the older style there is a red reset button at the extreme inside end of it. Try pressing that in and see if it corrects the problem. If you have the manual for the water heater it should tell you where the reset button is.

Hope that helps,

I am not sure what heater We have actually on my Fleetwood Sonata I was told that the heater is not working and it will need fixing by the mechanic who just serviced it but he quoted me £125 I thought it was expensive. I have a crystal thames water pump which is now no more If this helps.

Thank you all for the help and advice you have given me so far.
Lynn
