our tin tent is an elderly ( c1992) swift corniche 15/2, she has a carver 3000 space heater coupled to a blown air system.

last time out ( just before christmas) all worked fine, heater and blown air system kept the old girl toasty warm

after our last trip she was put back into storage, i recently went up to check on the 'van ,everything was fine apart from the heater it simply refuses to fire up, the peizo is emitting a good ,clear ,strong spark, the other gas appliances in the 'van, i.e hob, oven and 3 way fridge all functioning as they should, and the gas bottle is all but full ( was new just before last outing)

outwardly there is no sign of a problem and i can only assume that the gas valve itself has failed for some reason , any other ideas would be appreciated

Hi Peter,

May seem a daft question, but, has anyone accidentally knocked the cut off tap?

On my Autotrail there are a row of cut off gas taps under the cooker, one for each gas appliance.

Cheers,

Malcolm

do you know Malcolm, i never thought to check for a tap , i just assumed that as the other appliances were all working the fire should be too, will check that on my next visit.

Peter,
A pleasure. Thinking about it I think I have gas taps both under the cooker and under the dinette seats in my Autotrail Scout!
