Having kayaked BC (before child), we have recently taken the plunge and bought an inflatable family canoe and are looking for suggestions for sites near paddle-friendly calm water... Anyone?

I always love boating and paddling in Canada. Newfoundland, Nunavut and Pristine lakes and rivers in Ontario’s backyard are the best place for boating and paddling in Canada. We are also thinking to visit Haida Gwaii for boating. We would use public transport for travelling and mayhap, my kids would like to use their own boats, and I am thinking to use any this kind of boat transportation service https://www.topmove.ca/boat-transportation. However, I am not sure their charges for 3 boats and paddling stuff.

If you are from the United States, then you can also consider the Chesapeake Bay, and I don't think it is much wild. You can paddle here with great ease.

Hi,

Try the lake district. Lots of sites near to water and pretty much calm all the time.

Waterside House campsite, Pooley Bridge. Penrith is good. Park/camp near as you like to the water and launch just about anywhere.

Walk over the fields to Penrith and bus back. Ferry up and down the lake. Buy 3 part ferry ticket, sail a bit walk a bit, lots of options.

Spent a half term there and had a great time. Would defiantly go back.

All the best Wilt

We often kayak on the river Witham near Tattershall in lincolnshire. Lovely calm water and no major current
