Out of interest.. If staying on a site that provides its own facilities ie free to use hot showers/ toilets would you use these or those in your caravan/ motorhome?

if they're there ,we use them, in fact we prefer a site that has these facilities available, firstly because ,although our tin tent has it's own usable shower & cubicle, on site showers tend to be a bit bigger ,thus making it easier to shower comfortably, secondly the toilet in our van is used only for night time visits

For me I always use site showers as they tend to be bigger, hotter and you don't need to kerp constantly filling up the aquaroll.
Toilet in the van is great but I still tend to use site facilities where possible.
Personally I never have, nor do I think would, stay on a site without facilities.

I purposely purchased a caravan with a large end washroom with a double bubble shower as I got fed up with waiting at times for the sites showers to free up in busy periods. And now we use the van shower all the time. I agree with Andy though on the use of the toilet, they are for night time use only.

Most of the year we are on a seasonal pitch with connected water and when touring we fill the onboard tank, as there is nothing worse than running out of water in the middle of a shower.

Regards
Ray

Many state parks in Texas and Colorado offer such showers and toilet services. Similarly, many private camping sites like scenic tenting also provide this toilet service. However, if you ask my desire, then I would like to use this kind of house like Toto toilets ( https://abouttoilets.com/best-toto-toilets/ ) for my caravan. As compared to chemical and portable toilets, home ones are more comfortable.

If the facilities are good we use the onsite ones. However sometimes find they aren't up to standards and then we resort to using our own!!
