Campsites near Burgh Castle, Norfolk Broads

Set in the Broads National Park, Burgh Castle, an English Heritage Site, is a fantastic viewpoint from which to see the otherwise level landscape of the Norfolk Broads. Many campers and tourers with an interest in bird life already plan their UK camping trip in this unique environment. Why not give your binoculars a rest from bird-watching and use them instead to survey your surroundings from this unusual vantage point?

With its imposing stone walls and added towers for catapults, Burgh castle is steeped in exciting history: it is the site of one of several Roman forts constructed to hold cavalry as a defence against Saxon raids up the rivers of the east and south coasts of southern Britain and is freely open to the public to explore. The summit of the hill on which it is built provides imposing views over Breydon Water and beyond. Those who make it a focal point for walking holidays aren't disappointed and there are plenty of great campsites near Burgh Castle to call your home for a week.
