The Cotswold Show (www.cotswoldshow.co.uk), steeped in one of the most breath-takingly picturesque rural areas of the UK, is an ideal start or grand finale to your camping and caravanning holiday in the Cotswolds. Country pursuits are, not surprisingly, high on the agenda at the Cotswold Show: shooting competitions, chainsawing demonstrations, gun dog events, clay target shooting, ferret clubs and archery all celebrate the rural living that has taken place in this region for centuries. However, the show also offers a modern twist on the traditional past times. When you visit a country show you don't always expect to witness Big Pete with his Monster Trucks leaping 20ft into the air before pulverising whatever they land on now, do you? For the kids, there are tree climbing classes (yes, the youngesters cry, tell Gove to get this on the national Curriculum!) , donkey rides, inflatables and go karts to race. And the food is always outstanding, with local producers from the region celebrating local produce and local food making traditions - all to the benefit of our stomachs! Here you will find Cotswold camping near the Cotswold Show: what a great way to begin a relaxing holiday steeped in this quintessentially English county.
