With up to 40,000 visitors the general public have already given the thumbs up to this all-singing-all-dancing agricultural extravaganza. The Surrey County Show is home to hundreds of best in breed animals from giant beef bulls to tiny bantam hens. Situated just a short walk from Guildford Town Centre, this is an unusual venue for an agricultural show bringing, as the organisers say, "The best of the countryside into the heart of the town." Where else will you find bee keeping demonstrations, falconry displays, floristry competitions, fly fishing tuition, proudly groomed beef cattle and classic cars just a few hundred metres away from the High Street chains? It's a wonderful mixture of the traditional with the modern.a bit of a BIG thing and the Surrey Show reflects this with main arena spectacles like The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery wowing the crowds, a historic display of horsepersonship including guns and canon dating back to 1904.Where's the food? we hear you hungry show-goers shout. The Food Hall at the show houses the Surrey Food Festival and each year local ingredients are showcased, cheeses are made and demonstrations from a number of local celebrity chefs are avidly watched by foodies wanting to pick up a few new tips of their own.
